Description "My friends, I have called you to address one major issue." Edward announced. I heard murmurs throughout the group. I heard the word 'Crossers' several times, often associated with words like 'danger' or 'dead'. Weena's face was pale and so was Herb's. "The Venticun has been compromised." This struck a wave of fear in the group. "We have the wrong James." The group's attention focused on me.

"What? How could this be?" I heard a male voice ask.

"That is impossible!" A woman's voice yelled.

Edward took another gulp of his drink. "It does not matter how it happened, what matters is that the situation has changed. We are no longer held by the   promise of the Venticun. What your other selves have done is no longer what you will do. Your fate is your own." The look on Edward's face was grave. "You will not speak of this to your apprentices. Until I say otherwise, they are to stay here and kept in their rooms, no exceptions."

An Asian man stepped out of the group. "What do we tell them Edward?"

"Tell them that young James is here, and for the time being, they must continue with their training here." Edward responded. "Herb, take your apprentice to his room."

"Yes sir." Herb said as quietly as he could as not to gain attention. He began to walk toward Weena. I followed, still skeptical. If this is a dream, I have to admit, it's vivid.

"Don't think that this isn't over." Weena grabbed her husband by the arm and threatened him. "We'll talk about this later."

We continued on our way. The hallway was covered in paintings, some I recognized and some I didn't. One painting I did recognize was of a famous sci-fi writer, the man that is often credited for creating the sci-fi genre as we know it. HG.Wells. He was sitting in a chair, his hands on the knee that was resting on his left leg, staring right at me.

We passed a room with a dull orange light coming from it, I looked inside to see a bunch of girls in there, they were talking about something. All of them were in pyjamas. I felt my face get a little warm. There are girls here. I can't even talk to a girl. The room was large, many beds were contained, and I could swear I saw one of the girls pause her story and look up at me. A hand slapped me on the back of the head. I turned around to see my future wife, she was angry.

"Looking at girls are we?" She said with an annoyed tone.

"N-No." I lied. "Just admiring the walls."

After a few more minutes of silence we finally stopped. Yet another room, this time full of guys. I felt a bit disappointed. All of them were sitting around in a circle, laughing at something.

"Good evening boys." Weena called out from behind me. They all turned around to look at her. "Somebody show James his bed." She pushed me forward.

One dorky looking guy stood up and walked over to me. His blonde hair was a tangled mess and he wore glasses with a red frame. Under that mop of hair I could see freckles. He was about my age, maybe about fifteen of sixteen years old. That didn't stop him from being a few inches taller than me.

"I-I'm C-Chris. G-glad to m-meet you J-James." He nervously stuck out his hand. His voice sounded slightly British. I shook his hand. Something about this guy had me feeling that we'd get along. "Y-Your bed is over h-here." He pointed to the far left corner.

"We aren't usually this cramped, but right now most of the rooms are being used for Edward's company." Herb explained. "It won't be much longer before until the company goes back home, a few days at most. See you later young James, training starts tomorrow at noon."

I walked toward my bed and sat on it. Herb and Weena left the room. I got a look at what they were laughing at. A small, flat TV screen lay on the floor. I saw images of people falling down stairs and of some guy getting canned by a baseball. I chuckled as well. I know that show well, people send in funny videos and win money. I watch it all the time, being the sadistic person I am, though I've never seen any of these ones before.

After an hour or so we all went to bed and drifted off to sleep.

"Do you take  this woman to be your lawful wedded wife?" A minister asked me, he was holding a bible. I felt pure joy surge through my body, I was happier than I've ever been before.

"I do." I said. The woman before me had her veil over her face. I looked around at the church to see a much older Chris standing there, he was also in a tuxedo. The rest of the spectators watched eagerly. I turned around to look at my wife.

"Do you take James to be your lawful wedded husband?" The minister asked.

"I do." She said softly.

"Then you may kiss the-" A loud crash sounded from behind us and we all looked towards the noise. My feeling of happiness quickly disappeared.

"James! Get up." Someone was trying to shake me awake.

"Just five more minutes." I yawned and tried to go back to sleep.

The voice was probably getting annoyed because I received a slap to my head. "I said get up. Jeez, No wonder Herb is this bad. He's been a lazy sack of crap since I first met him." The voice growled.

I looked up to see Weena glowering at me. I jumped and covered myself up with the blankets. I stared at her wide eyed. "Wh-what did you hear?" I squealed.

"What's wrong? I've seen you naked before, why would you worry if I heard your murmurs? She replied. She heard something.

"Th-That's different! I mean. I'm not your husband." I stuttered.

"Yet. Besides, you've become more of a baby since I married you."

"Wait. This isn't a dream?" I begun to realize. Weena placed her head in her palm and shook her head.

"I can't believe I married that man." She said. "Go down the hall and into the third room on the left." She continued to sit there as she said it.

"You're not coming with me?" I replied.

"No. I need a minute to re-think my life." She sounded very disappointed.

I got up and walked away. I was tempted to go back and see if that girl was still there. I walked down the hall towards the girl's room but decided that maybe I don't want to look like a pervert in my Pyjamas so I ran to the room that Weena told me to go to. Just as I reached the door I had a strong feeling to turn around and look down the way I came.

"Are you coming or not?" Herb shouted from inside. I quickly opened to door to see him sitting in a completely white room.  There was nothing inside except him, the chair he was on and another one for me. I sat down. Even the chairs were painted white.

"I owe you more answers than you got last night. I wasn't expecting to get so rudely interrupted." He rubbed his forehead. "Ask me anything."

"I've got so many questions." I stated.

"I know, so did I. We've got all day."

"Who is Weena and why didn't she want you to say her name?" I asked. That question shouldn't have been my first, but I didn't care, it was the one I wanted answered the most.

"I suppose the answer 'our wife' isn't what you're looking for. Well, I can and can't answer that. Y'see, Weena is the kind of person that believes in destiny, she feels that if we mess with the typical time flow, it messes up destiny. So basically, if you knew her name, you'd try to find her past self, hence why she also changed her looks." He explained. "It's not that she wants to be cryptic, she wants, no, needs you to end up with her past self. If you don't end up with her then this version of her won't exist. Van wouldn't exist."
