I'm re-reading the book now. I don't remember this part at all, but hopefully I'm getting to it.

This is cool! I think the bird in the story would look like a giant scary vulture. But this is cool

A book, by Norton Juster.
There was also an animated adaptation, which was... adequate, but nothing impressive.

I've never read "The Phantom Tollbooth," but I saw this deviation and clicked on it because it resembled a scene from one of my favorite films... When I saw the thumbnail I thought this was a take on that scene if it had been a book rather than an animated film (in this way, the characters would most likely have a much different appearance). An old man, a kid, a dog, and an exotic bird... Anyone else out there think that this could also be an interpretation of the scene where Kevin is introduced in the movie "Up?"
Beautiful picture, by the way!

One of my favorite childhood books. Rare to see others who enjoyed it too.
I love how you envisioned the characters very much, especially Tock (I think that's his name, it's been awhile). He looks like the very embodiment of loyalty.
If I remember correctly, Humbug was literally a bug, but, really, your Humbug's great anyways. Classic expression.
Milo's great too. I love how you captured the average-ness of him, yet, at the same time, still mantained a unique-ness. He's got a great "meh" to him like he did in the story.
...And the Wordsnatcher's just beautiful! (have to admit, I had to google his name, eheh)
All in all, a great, magical vision of a great, magical book! Thank you so much for making this! A definite fave!
