Description Surrounding the stars is nothingness.
The stars are alone in the darkness, trying to shine their light.
But sooner or later they will burn out and their disappearance won’t even be noticed to mankind.
The darkness has done its deed, as it will eventually do on all of us.
It will suffocate us, and when we burn out…nobody will notice or remember.
We are only one in billions.
Our absence is replaced by those who now shine brighter then we do.
We are forgotten.
Was there any point of trying to shine our light in the first place, if only to replaced when our light becomes dim?
I tend to think not, as I fade into the black…

I always wondered about that... the wonder if people acually give a damn about you when you have faded away. I like it, truely a masterpiece.

oo..that is depressing. Though very not true. ^^ Someone will always remember you are there or where once. Whether they care or not.

yes but you have to remember that this poem was written with a depressed person's state of mind. they may not think that anyone cares for them or that there was any point to their life. Like people may remember them, but they don't think that they will.

But people will only remember for a short time, after two or three generations people forget, plus....what about the people who don't have anybody to remember them? it's a really disturbing thought

that is true...but there is usually something around to remember those people. Records, pictures, etc.

unless your famous.

But u can hardly say thats a bad thing, because it would happen to everyone at one time. Eventually, ya people may forget about you, as the generations from your death continue on in life. But it doesn't mean people won't remember you.

But if people forget you, doesn't that mean that they won't remember you?
