Beautiful! Love your use of color to give the piece energy and style.
Your fullview size may be too big, it should fit on the average screen without needing a horizontal scroll bar for easy viewing.

Nice use of colors, they give it that stained glass feel.

I favorited this one because the color is stunning and I love the texture and shaping you've created with the linear stuff. The pose and color and format and everything are just electrified. Gorgeous!

Thank you so much! This one has been favorited a lot, and it really surprised me - I thought the image was a bit too bold for most people! I stand corrected!

It could have been too much, per say, with all those colors, but you handled and organized it in such a way that it isn't. Bold = beautiful in this case.

WOW!!

I recognized the reference image you used for this straight off: Shah Azim, an Arabian stallion owned by Paragon Arabians, photo by Bob Langrish.

I have seen many, many equine artsits (and would-be equine artists) copy from this photo and others of this magnificent steed. This is by far the best! The first thing that catches me about this piece is the high energy. The texture is very kinetic, and presents the exuberance of the stallion as well as his physical beauty. The rich contrasts in the colors you chose also enhance that energy. I also love the fact that, unlike most artists who work from photographic references, you did not make any pretense at photorealism. Rather than merely copy the image, you enhanced it, you gave it the life that it lacked as a simple 2D capture.

I can understand why Paragon Arabians and Bob Langrish would give you permission to use this image. You do it terrific justice.

very interesting pose and coloration. perhaps your horse could use a mane? I think I see a tail, and I believe he would lend himself to even small braids. (you know the little "buns" that they style horses' manes into?) I really like the head and neck shape.

To me that pic was familiar too and I also know where to find it: [link]

Great job with that Althought colors are kinda surprising, but it doesnt mind. Other thing that bothers me is that Arabian mares aren't so Great-looking as u posed it (as in ref pic there is stallion). Arab mares doesnt have so remarkable noticable neck as arab stallions. That bothers, but it doesn't mind if u don't pay attention to that fact

What great observations! Thanks, I appreciate that. I have permission from both the photographer and the owner - and yes he is a stallion. After I concocted this I felt it was more interesting as a mare, especially noting the arab mares I am intimately acquainted with! BIG ATTITUDES!

Wow.. you have a great eye for your chosen subject.. the pose is great and i can just see a horse doing it i used to ride and look after them

colours work absolutely brilliantly, im not known for liking many things in such vibrant abstract colours but this is fantastic even the unusual texture on the horses body works brilliantly!

i love the fact that the background (distant) is separated by the fence and a completely different colour and texture.

on the legs youve got all the lightng right for muscle and bone.. even in such vibrant colours and the texture..god..lol anyway im going on a bit great stuff! you should sell some things.. if u dont already

Thank you! I do sell some, do some commissions, but Wisconsin is a very poor state for art. Lots of German conservatives. I've sold more in Chicago! I am moving to Boulder CO in September, a much better location for horse art! tHANKS FOR YOUR PRAISE!

Could be -I have gotten permission from this photographer and the owner of this great arabian to do various portraits over the years -I've been working on a 6ft painting of her rearing, but I hae to start over - the perspective is shot.

Another partial abstract. These are very interesting. The colours seem to work, gel, even though they shouldn't, technically. You wouldn't expect them to. Interesting and unusual pose too. Nice!
