Description Got some new paper. The issue with most brown papers is that they're meant for pencil or charcoal only. When it comes time to introduce ink they are far too absorbent or texture laden. But this has worked really well. Next stop is introducing white values to this (prisma and some paint).

Great designs all around, Evan. Especially dig the zig zag lines throughout.

What paper is it?

Thanks Evan, I think zigzags are kind of becoming my 'thing'! It's actually a sketchbook I picked up at Walmart of all places, recycled paper with a silky smooth finish (I think hot press), thus the clarity of lines. But the whole thing looks like a light brown cardboard. From a company called Cachet and the sketchbook is called Earthbound.

Thanks Scott! I've been fighting a lot of things on my art the past 4 or so months, and I think I'm finally resolving them, so I'm getting consistent again!

absorbent indeed, but this came out great!

Thank you very much! I really enjoy this paper, the line fidelity actually holds, and outside of my Marks-A-Lot or Sharpies, it has very little bleed. It's a recycled paper sketchbook from Cachet called Earthbound, which I totally wasn't expecting. I'm playing around with some col-erase and white prisma right now, and it comes out vibrant and has low amounts of tooth.

white prismas' go well with it (as far as I've played with anyway)
I really should get more into it.
hopefully soon.

Sweeeeeeet.

Love this. Great mark-making incorporated into the drawing.

I hate myself now.

Shoooot, what are you talking about! Seeing your work has been making me want to get back into some shadowy, gritty work. I was edging into my open lines, and I wasn't spotting blacks as much. But now I'm experimenting with shadow again! So I should say THANK YOU!!!

Well your stuff reminds me how stiff and blocky some of my drawing is. I construct a bit too much and don't free up enough to allow for exaggeration.

So, considering all that.... Let's both just THANK EACH OTHER!
