Description On October 3, 1973, we rode the Lake Erie Chapter NRHS's Lake Erie Limited from Cleveland OH to Boston MA, which was led by the Societies LE&E I-2-A Mikado #5193 & their FP7A Unit. The consist was 27 Cars long with some coaches owned by the Society, while some cars were still owned by Amtrak including some of the Penn Central, LE&E, CB&Q, & much more in the consist. By that evening, we finished descending Killdane Hill in Killdane Forest NY before racing at track speed heading for our overnight stop in Congers. Just as we descended the hill, we passed one of the Railroad's USPS/UPS Trailer Trains bound for Chicago. We spent the night in Congers before continuing onwards to Boston, where the Eastbound trip ended. We'll chase the Westbound trip as far as Cincinnati OH before calling it a trip.
