Description On the morning of April 6, 1971, we're on Lake Erie & Eastern's Mainline at the Eastern Slope of Killdane Hill to chase trains. Soon, we caught the Unnamed Chicago IL to Boston MA Service ending it's descent of Killdane Hill. The train was running over an hour & 12 minutes behind schedule & is making up for lost time behind an FP7 A-B-B-B Set with the 3rd Unit behind a Converted Alco PA Steam Generator car. At the time, this photo was shot, the Railroad had cut down their Passenger trains to this service, as well as the Michigan Service Trains. This train was also on it's last days before the National Passenger Rail Network Takeover & was only running at less than half capacity. The train would arrive in the Athens of America, that night. Weeks later, the service would make it's Final run with I-2-A Mikado #5193 leading the Westbound Run to Chicago IL, while a pair of EMD GP35's would lead the eastbound Trip. We would chase the Final Westbound Run with 5193 on that final day of private Passenger Train Operation.
