I can't believe Bolos never made it big enough to have their own subgenre of SciFi movies. Could you imagine? Let's get Michael Bay and James Cameron to team up and make some sick explosions and graphics. I'd watch the hell out of that.
My dad originally on introduced me to Bolos back in, like, 2006 and I rarely ever see anything about them. Bolos are amazing. Anyone else a Nike fan?

Some of the "supertanks" were VERY mobile. The MkXXX with counter-grav could hit sprint speeds of 500KPH - @ 17,000 tons gross weight.

I'm sorry, but Bolos that large didn't really come up until, oh, say, the twenties, if I remember correctly. the Mk. 4 was the size of an oversized earth tank.

The designs for these super tanks always made me wonder just how mobile they are. They never seem to mention this in the book, as far as I've read. Nice design though, especially the turret placement. No infantry short of a squad of Space Marines should be able to get near it!

Gah old image is ooolde. Bolos get away with it by having almost a starships level of power to weight and a great deal of mass to throw at or through hills. That and they have (for there mass) a relatively low ground pressure.

I once more reference Nike. Destroyed records or no, HOW DO YOU MISPLACE A SUPER TANK ITS NOT YOUR CAR KEYS??? A piece of me feels some of these people weren't the brightest when it came to leaving their toys out. Then again, that's what we get for being referenced over and over to remember that Bolos are to be considered "expendable" so it doesn't matter where they get left. But you'd at least think that with all the fancy tech available they would have some kind GPS in them so you could just RT track the location of a given Bolo?? Idk, I'm still working my way through the lore.

At last! Another bolo fan ..excelent, Im afraid this is my own bastardised version of the Bolo concept for nationstates and as such may not match up to Laumers Flint Steel armoured electronic knights.
