Description The Nerve Pincher is an abomination created by Ver'Rahl, the necromancer. This serpent-like monster was built to slither into towns and castles and subdue the population within. From the mouth-like cavity in its torso, it releases red centipede-like creatures that immediately look for a viable host. The crawlers are capable of detecting the electrochemical impulses within prey, and use these senses to find the nerves that connect the body to the brain. They will climb onto their target and latch onto this area, usually clamping onto the spine of a human host. Their claws and pincers allow them to anchor in and make them difficult to dislodge when they are crawling or locked onto prey. In this state, they take over the nervous system of the victim, blocking the signals from the brain and introducing their own impulses. When they first latch on, the victim will go completely limp, as their body is compromised. Once control is gained, the crawlers will fire off impulses to keep the organs working and to move the muscles of the victim. They can then steer the person around as if they were the brain, using these bodies to subdue others so crawlers can latch on. Though they can control the body, their movements are very stiff and erratic, like a puppet being controlled by rookie puppeteer.

The Nerve Pincher itself relies on stealth and ambush to take down prey. Its tentacled hands end in feelers and prods that can burrow into prey and mess with their nerves. It usually induces paralysis of the muscles or may cause a  temporary mental rewrite, forcing prey to obey a set of commands for a short period of time. The tentacles all over its body allows it to latch onto many surfaces, which it uses to hide from sight and plan ambushes. It does its best to avoid physical combat, but it is easily able to defend itself when it comes to blows. Its tentacles and flexible body allow it to constrict and restrain prey, giving it time to attach a crawler. It will also use the controlled victims as shields, having the parasites place the hosts in harms way so that attackers are hesitant to strike. Foes will have a hard time fighting it while it hides behind a wall built of puppeteered friends and family.

The controlling process is not permanent, as the crawlers can be forcibly removed or killed to allow the host to regain consciousness. With the Nerve Pincher still alive and coughing out more crawlers, the saved host may find its regained freedom short lived.

Finally got a look and color down for the Nerve Pincher! I had been meaning to update this one, but it took some doing to come up with a look I liked!

My skin crawled a bit while reading the description....which is a compliment by the way.  This monster needs to be in a visceral horror movie.

It is a rather creepy creature! I really like its abilities, even though they are pretty terrifying.
