Some time ago I found out that those horse games I used to play as a kid still live on as an MMO, and later I learned that it's actually quite popular among horse girls these days. And I was looking for things to make more possible post card or print -quality art of, so I figured that it would at least be interesting to see if this drawing would find its audience at artist alleys. I regret trying, horses are clearly not my strength :----D Oh well, here it is, Starshine Legacy turned Star Stable Online horse heroes!

I only played one Star Shine Legacy game (can't remember which) but I played the heck out of the Star Stable games when I was younger (They did seasons, Winter Rider, Autumn rider, etc). When I saw SSO go into development I was beyond excited! Still play the game to this day, the story quest is amazing so far, you drew these guys so well!Β

Thank you! I played the seasons too! But after those the series kinda just fell into obscurity for me.
...until about a year ago when I found SSO, I originally wasn't going to stick around after my free star rider trial expired but then my boyfriend had to also make an account for the shits and he found the "become a wild horse" feature. And that's the story of how I blew the little extra money I had culminated at the moment. Playing pretend that I'm a colorful magic horse is just too much fun. ; _ ;
I actually think the story has only just recently picked up a bit, the first six months' worth of it that I played just felt so flat to me, especially due to the awkwardly outdated graphics. The recent updates for character models and scenery have finally made me cringe a little less at my childish joys in life, though! Storywise I think the original Starshine Legacy is still easily the best, I loved how creepy it was without ever crossing over to inappropriate for its target audience.

You probably haven't gone that far into the story then, some spots can get dark. Two people actually die (I won't say who), and you know the GED kidnapping people and taking horses and making them into evil nightmares is pretty out there lols. yeah the new models are great but they haven't put them into the old quests yet. SSO has come a long way, I've been playing it for about 7 years and it's super cool to see the game progress

I have actually, just not the last couple weeks' quests yet! But I still don't think they go as far as SL, especially on the creepy factor. The horse kidnapping was exactly what I was thinking of with the picking up after six months, that was more akin to what I'd like to see! People dying isn't really what I'd consider creepy, emotional and more mature in content, sure, but not really creepy. What happened to the horsenapper was great in writing, but the execution I felt was noticeably more child friendly compared to SL (I'm mostly thinking about the characters' visual design - horsenapper's new form feels a lot more typical-monster-in-the-closet when I still vividly remember the shock of seeing Mr Sands in the wheelchair for the first time in SL)
Though I recognize that this is just my opinion, and I can totally respect another that differs from mine! ^_^

Regret trying? This is great! I played Starshine Legacy myself wben I was younger but oddly enough, I joined Star Stable unaware of the connection (yes, I kinda freaked when I saw Khaan and Sabine on there and realized the connection).

Ohh thank you so much! I knew of the connection because there was this sort of monthly horse girl gift box subscription thing that my friend was subbed to, and they first released Starshine in the boxes and then the four seasonal Star Stable games right after! So when I heard oof Star Stable Online I already knew it continues the same universe~ ^_^

Oh, what do you mean you regret trying? They look so cute! The dramatic poses, perspective and lighting are in such a unique style, but they are still clearly recognizable! I think Concorde looks especially valiant! And you even included Fripp!
