Yeah, that's what I colored it with, though all of the outline was done in black pen.

There are a fair number of differences, actually. Allosaurs were a much more primitive group and lived in the Jurassic period, around 150 million years ago. They're considered carnosaurs, and are overall a more basal group than Tyrannosaurs, which are considered coelurosaurs, a group that includes raptors (so T. rex is actually more closely related to Velociraptor than to Allosaurs). Tyrannosaurs were much more recent also; T. rex is from the late Cretaceous, around 65 million years ago.
There are a lot of specific structural differences also, but the main thing to keep in mind is that they belong to completely different families (and different infraorders) and aren't really that similar or closely related over all.

How bad did your hand hurt, out of curiosity?

Not too much, actually. It was more time-consuming than anything. I did almost all of the scale detail during a school assembly.

Ah, school assemblies. I usually either fidget the whole time or fall asleep. They never let us bring sketchbooks T_T

Wow! amazing detail! this needs to be in my fave's...great job on this, the texture is ...*sighs*...perfect.
just a li'l critique: are allosaur eyes that big? or am i just retarded... And the skin on where the mandible and skull connect seems a little strange, though i don't know why, it's too smooth or something...i don't know, i'm going to shut up now as to not sound like an ass-hole. great job! *loves this*

Although lil' "dragonic", I put this in my favs. The coloring and skin texture is great. I think the corners of the mouth should extend to the end on the jaws and maybe someone can verify if the ear is mislocated. But I`m not here to bring your artwork down, I still think it`s magnificent!
