This is a design I thought up recently for the biblical angel Michael. For some reason I felt like doing it in Illustrator, and since I'd never tried such a large and detailed picture in Illustrator before it took alot longer than expected. If I had to guess I'd say I put in a total of around 10-12 hours, though I made alot of changes in the design along the way. I must say it was a very interesting and fun project, but I'm glad to be done with illustrator for now...hehehI'll be making a full color image for this guy in the next few weeks, complete with scenary and everything, so until then enjoy the lineart

This angel is done beautifully! Angels are my favorite subject--but they are so hard to do... But you did an amazing job, especially with the wing anatomy and the DETAIL!!! ooo the deetail... i could never muster up enough patients to do what you have done. ^~^;

hmmm, it might have indirectly been influenced by Wen-M but I wasn't really thinking of him when I designed this and made the pose

Wow... the detail on that is phenominal. I adore this lineart, and I'm looking forward to seeing it coloured! It's just a pity that my rival in my class is named after the angel... It kinda spoils it for me, cos I hate the guy. Love the pic though.

hehe, there are plenty of people with the name Michael, it doesn't mean he's named after an angel necessarily.

Actually, I know this guy is specifically named after St. Michael the Archangel. I vaguely know his parents, his family are all stict Catholics and (this is the clincher) he regularly tells me he's named after the guy. I think that's fairly conclusive.

The drawing is really good, but I don't think the face goes well with it. I think if the face had a little bit more detail and was a bit more serious it would match the rest of the drawing better
