Exhale-NL In reply to ??? [2008-07-01 12:55:33 +0000 UTC]

oh, hmm. It's an old tutorial eh, but you could do it with any shape in c4d. Maybe I'll write one about splines sooner or later

Well for abstract it could be a great thing...I mean the whole object is to get the coolest/craziest looking shape right?

Exhale-NL In reply to tonare [2005-01-20 22:10:13 +0000 UTC]

yeah it is lol...

tonare In reply to tonare [2005-01-20 21:32:03 +0000 UTC]

Here's a little tip though, when modeling a real object, you most definatley want to avoid triangles, and use untriangluate if you do get them. If you want triangles, and have c4d 9 then use N-gons. But for the normal c4d mesh, it really screws up the mesh when triangles are there, and textures, materials, relections, shadows ect......can get really screwed up.

Yay, I found triangulate! And Subdivide! And it worked! It looks awesome!

Twistedsticky [2004-11-07 08:40:13 +0000 UTC]

Argh! I really want to do that...it looks awesome...but in my C4D I don't have Triangulate OR Subdivide! I have R9...that might be it. Or they might be hidden in a different place. Can anyone help me?

tonare In reply to Twistedsticky [2005-01-20 21:14:59 +0000 UTC]

lol read the manual....yes you have triangulate and subdivide. Maxon would not get rid of those important tools. You have to use the polygon tool or the points tool, and you have 3 choices:

Hit "V" on your Keyboard, and go to functions. There in there.
Or go to "Functions/Triangulate & Sub Divide".
And last, is simply right click while in either of these tools and Triangulate & Sub Divide are around 3/4 way down.
