Japan is on a hegemonic warpath, pioneering the Pan-Asian Conflict. The Japanese have retrograded, calling a rise to the Zaibatsu and Shogunate. In cutting off connections with the West, they have crippled and monopolized the world.

America is in a state of chaos. Where national government trumps all, State lines became blurred. Bills have been passed to inflate the economy, creating a bubble where the US Dollar is virtually meaningless in the global perspective. In a world where policies restrict all human rights of liberty and freedom and status trumps merit, the United States has become the next target among crippling nations.

Meanwhile, a sector in America was forcefully sliced up, being dubbed as the "Asian Stratus Precincts", Asians fleeing the Pan-Asian Conflict seek refuge in America. As no real law exists in these lands, militant Great Families have risen -- merchants whose economic power rival that of any politician. Bloody battles for resources have been staged, and likewise, the American government wants to be involved.

In this future, no man is safe from persecution. This state of the world tests the very boundaries of science and religion, machinery and sorcery, human ethics and political policy. Prepare for the end.
