I think Snape became a Death Eater, because he really did believe in the order of the Dark Lord and was truly attracted to the dark arts. He wanted to be part of something powerful... He was insecure and vulnerable, hurt and neglected, it was a free ticket to Voldemort.
I had a picture in my mind to draw a crowd once, faces of young death eaters - Snape included, showing their loyalty and faith - a devotion that shines through their skin granting them a strange beauty.
...and as usual I have huge ideas and end up with one single portrait, a fraction of my plan, no crowd

This is very close to how I pictured the character from the books. Right from the lanky hair to the hooked nose. The shading on this is excellent. Great job.

hey im kinda bussy with spring exams comming .it will be like this till middle of june...i hope i will be able to draw something but im not sure since i ran out of drawing paper just few days ago..

It is a Roman Polanski musical. A young girl receives a package every night with red boots and she escapes from home, out to the dark woods and dance till dawn with vampires until she doesn't arrive home the next morning and a young man goes after her to the dark castle of vampires.

This is stunning. There is such a light shining inside him and out of him. I think it is that momentary and fleeting feeling of complete and utter belonging and purpose he must have felt when he first joined up. I feel for him, that all those dreams and hopes were only too quickly crushed beneath the horrors of reality.
