The heroic alter ego of Sam Alexander in this Alternate Marvel Universe.

In this Alternate Marvel Universe, Sam Alexander is the son of two S.H.I.E.LD/S.W.O.R.D. scientists who were assigned to study the extraterrestrial nanotechnology of Richard Ryder’s Nova armor in order to develop possible nanotechnology armor & weapons for both S.H.I.E.L.D. and S.W.O.R.D.

Gaining unauthorized access to his parents’ private home lab facility, Sam discovers an abandoned attempt at an early prototype nanotechnology helmet & armor. The prototype helmet & armor had been abandoned due to the nanotechnology infused into them seemingly being inert and thus not allowing the helmet & armor to function as designed. Sam takes the helmet & armor with the intent of using it as the base of a costume to be worn at various upcoming sci-fi cosplay events that he plans to participate in. However the electronic EFX modifications he performs on the helmet & armor meant to be for show have the unexpected side-effect of legitimately activating the inert nanotechnology thus making it the fully functional prototype that it was designed to be. Sam has since gone on to use the nanotech armor as the hero known as Starburst.

Sam’s Starburst armor gives him the abilities of enhanced strength, super speed flight, energy projection & absorption, as well as the creation of energy force fields. His helmet serves as the control nexus for the armor as well as a communication/translation device which automatically translates any foreign language so that he is able to communicate with anyone.
