Whenever I draw a landscape concept for the world of Aurora, certain key words spring to mind: teeth; jagged; sanded; jaws; maw.The way I imagine the landscape is like a series of mouths, opening up towards the sky trying to chomp down anything that gets in their path. I'd like to think that this was the case to my approach towards the design of these lands, as opposed to some simple "sharp triangular mountains look cool".
This piece was used more so as to practice with some brushes and an attempt at changing up my technique of using a game screenshot to act as a reference for the shape and composition. The reference was used more for its general appearance, with very little usage of the actual background (to the point you'll probably have a difficult time finding out what game I used it from). It was a decent practice. Lot of fun.

This is a really nice landscape picture! Definitely helps get an idea of what Aurora is like. Hopefully the practice on this was good.
