Beautiful and I love the colours you used. they are somewhat muted but that can be expected of a night picture The detail and textures in the fur and reeds are beautifully done. I love his expression, very intelligent and thoughtful. The picture makes me wonder what he is looking at or thinking about.
I'm afraid I'm not very good at giving advanced critique and I couldn't see anything that needed improvement in this picture. I think it's beautifully done. Anyway, take care.

You enjoy, I'm embarassed! That background looks like a terribly amateur matte painting and the water has almost no reflection!

Amazing detail in the wolf. He looks kind of lost! I feel sorry for the poor guy. Interesting looking character.

The detail in this has dumbfounded me. I almost thought just for a second that you had snuck up on a real wolf and then I remembered I'm in digital art xD I must favorite this, it just jumps out at me.

Wow! This is just...amazing.
I don't know how you do it!
The realism is really well done here. His fur looks so touchable! Also the long yellow grasses infront and behind are a nice addition and their partial transparency near the top (the ones upfront) looks really cool, just kind of flowing into the picture. The trees look great too as well as the water and the jaggedy rock his paws are just over. SO nice! I just HAVE to fav this ^^

Glad you noticed that. Ya, when things are up close you can practically see behind them. This is due to parallax; our eyes are in two different places on our face so we can see in 3 dimensions but when things get up real close you sort of see around it. That and I didn't want to obscure the picture too much and could get away with a little transparency on plants.

Exactly. It really is like that!
Sometimes I can see right through my nose or my hand or something. Very weird. I'm going to try and follow your fur tutorial. I can't seem to get that full realism with the shine and all.

It takes some practice and alot of going over and over and over again with color.

I favorited it, so I have to put something in XD Last night, the last time I saw this picture I hadn't seen your texturing on the rock. Considering how much I adore Auk in this picture, I know you know hes done well and that I'm infinately pleased, but I thought I'd like to compliment you on a background element I've now seen you become infinately beet at. In your much, much older pictures that contined stone it was never so textured. It grew more textured, certainly, but the focus was, of course, always the image of the characters. In this picture, you have absolutely mastered blending character to environmental elements. Auk is no more or less realistic or defined than the near by grass, the rock or the near pool. The farthest trees are blurred by mist, I understnd that, but the sleekish and smudged texture of them is, and I may be wrong..., how all background and rock texture used to tend to be.

Uh, wow. The depth in this piece is awesome! I enjoy the mood too, though it seems kind of gloomy and dark. And the fur texture! *drools at*

Stunning. The details in the picture are nicely done. I especially love the texture on the rock and fur. Subtle details, such as the grass nearest to you being slightly blurred, give the pick a nice aura. Great work!
