i like your style. very pastel & dreamy. reminiscent of some of gentler fantasy art of the 70's. beautiful.

aw well, thank you^^ i've been drawing them for awhile now, so it's easier once you become familiar with them. btw, i think you did an amazing job with the orchids in your "mica" pic
umm...hard to say how long, cuz it "evolves" over a period of weeks. the idea came in a flash, while gazing at an orchid...followed by mb 20 minutes working it out in my head, with a 5 min. rough sketch...which i put away for a few days. the actual sketch and layout was prolly 30-40 mins. and followed up by the cleaned-up line art, a day or two later...about an hour of last minute changes. and the coloring, off and on over a period of days, prolly about 5 or 6 hours total. but that's a wild guess! i never "watch" myself. cuz, i'm always distracted. when i'm inspired and drawing, i'm also playing music, playing guitar, dancing around, jumping up and down, writing poetry and stuff...heh, i'm all over the place! i'm hard to pin down sometimes
anyway, did that make any sense?
oh, btw...i haven't forgotten that *special*orchid* pic i promised you^^

I really admire your flower designs. I would never have the patience to do something so detailed. About the scanner have you ever tried making it lighter on photoshop? I always use a low opacity screen layer to bring the colors back, even if just a little.

very crisp (despite the scanner). I love the inside of the flower.

I know scanners can be a problem. But still the design is great! That faery is beautiful standing in the orchid flower.

Awww... stupid scanner. But hey, at least it still looks great!
You know, this is the first case where the orchid takes away from the fairy!

Even so, the details and the sheer work of the composition is really quite excellent.

Wow, very pretty. Scanners can be evil, but the design is lovely and having not seen the original, the colours here look very nice
