Personality
Vulcan is a serious boy for his age. He likes to concentrate on his work in the arena and will never give less than 100% during training. If you let him, he would train 12 hours a day. He doesn’t care too much about interacting with other horses, but establishes a strong bond to his main rider. Sometimes a bit stubborn, he might refuse to walk past the arena and out into the trail if you don’t persuade him.
Vulcano appears to be happiest during show season. He loves traveling, getting tacked up all fancy and especially enjoys performing. His soft face and fuzzy locks make him a very beloved and adored show-horse by his fans. It’s almost as if he knew he was instagram famous through an account run by his rider
Other:
- wears a self made collar sent to his p.o. box by a fan of his instagram channel
- has garnered a lot of attention with his silky and slightly curled mane, resulting in him becoming a model horse for an international mane shampoo company
- tends to blame himself for the tiniest mistakes during shows which shows itself in loss of sleep and appetite
- cannot understand why horses would prefer the lazy life on the pasture with an occasional trail ride
- fears the day an injury gets between him and his successful career, which is why he hates any and all vet visits
- is easily spooked from behind and will therefore sport a red ribbon on his tail during competitions
Backstory:
Vulcano was supposed to be an absolute dream foal to his owners. After a long time on the waitlist for a Breeding Opportunity between their most precious Dressage Prospects, An Atlantean Draft Mare with a perfectly balanced personality and elegant movement and a very small framed and talented Atlantean Stallion were supposed to produce the ideal heavy Dressage Prospect with swift movement and an elegant, yet on the flashier side, Tidal Trott.
The Pregnancy went very well, but nature is not to be controlled by anyone, and so the owners came to realize that their precious Dressage Prospect had taken after a great-great-grand Sire on the Sire’s lineage - which essentially meant that Vulcano turned out to be broad shouldered, extremely front heavy and eventually grew to be 18HH tall by the age of 2.
The Stallion was, regardless of his frame, very hard working and certainly a quick learner in his discipline. He was as spindly as can be during his juvenile years, obviously not being able to eat enough food during the day to support his record growth. The owners were not ready to give him up either way and saw a lot of potential in his attitude. After a lot of high calorie snacks, solid training and the first few placings in local dressage shows, they decided to send him out to a Breed-Affiliated Stable who had experience with Atlantean Drafts. Visiting multiple stables in the area, the owners eventually settled on Oakwood-Creek as they had a good feeling about Vulcano’s future.
