***********************************************

Once on his feet, the effort of staying there requires that he force the pain from his thoughts. One step forward, and then another, his mind growing more focused and his heart more determined as his pace quickens. After all the doomed sacrifices the women in his charge have made, he can do no less. For what unknown reason the enemy has left him alive, he will make certain that they pay for it.

***********************************************

Luther Vandermoor's stock model is our own ~Mistersneaky As a collector of swords, he has given me a treasure trove of good Luther references for this sequence and those that follow. If you approve, let him know!

Enjoy!

Dramatic perspective works nicely here. Good sense of suspense building, too.

Thanks for the compliments. At this point, I'm finding it difficult to even pretend there's anything "suspense-worthy" in this storyline... One page at a time, this project is going to get completed anyway.

Really good story here this always has me on edge wondering what's going to happen next.

Thank you! I hope you can maintain your balance on that edge for as long as it takes me to draw these chapters...

I'm really torn here, because (obviously) this is an incredible image, wonderfully moody and beautifully realised... but, being somewhat base, I am rather eager to see you get back to the damsels in distress (and undress).

Thanks! You are one of the sizable portion of the commenters on this storyline who hold to that focus and are eager to see the theme represented liberally in the images.

(As it turns out, I am also one of those people... )

Gret concept and very good use of light and shade. The depth effect is amazing

Thanks a bunch! I'm rather pleased with how it turned out, too.

sure you make pictures of naked and bikini clad chicks in distress. but to be able to go and make this, without a boob in sight, is spectacular.

you can feel the pain and desire to collapse with very step! i also like that his sword is pointed downward, implying he barely can carry it.

you were the first artest i found on devaint art, and by god i have not found a single person who can top your art yet. draw on my friend!

Thank you for the wonderful compliment! I'm glad you approve of the image and of my art. I hope you continue to enjoy the storyline and the art it inspires, and vice versa...

Seriously, Luther seems like a really nice guy, deserves the Oscar for Best Angst-Ridden Supporting Actor, etc.; but LET'S SEE SOME NAKED DAMSELS!!

Wait. What are you saying? Are you trying to tell me something here? I'm thinking of Howard on early Big Bang Theory when he finally realizes that Penny's insulting him. You want to see some naked damsels? Are you serious?

Working on it. Elina's robe is proving difficult to strip off, as it turns out, and we won't get more than a glimpse of Drea, Anna, and Callista for the rest of the chapter so I can finish this storyline sometime in this lifetime...

If the robe isn't getting ripping off by now then the forces of evil just aren't trying hard enough.

Yeah, that's a good and familiar point. But, the forces of evil are kind of... well, gone.

Wait for it... Wait for it... Brainstorm! Etherial Gremlins! Vague, semimorphous (Is that a word?) outlines with few details, almost as if quick sketches had come to life! No muss, no fuss... unless you happen to be a comely damsel they're stripping, binding, and gagging! Anyhoo, they're artist friendly!

Okay... it wasn't a brainstorm. Maybe I ought to take a nap.

I hope you enjoyed your nap! And, while I don't know if Ethereal Gremlins have a place in this chapter, I haven't really thought much about "ghosts" playing a role in the storyline. It's an interesting idea to consider, which means it was an effective brainstorm.

I think this is about the right time for an inspirational musical montage. Sing it with me folks!

I've had this song going through my head for the past day since I read this comment. That's okay, though, because I do like it. Catchy, repetitive, bouncy, fun. It's like the gif image of a wet T-shirt contest or something...

Wait, what were we talking about?

Wait, that's now how it goes, is it...

Why do I feel this childish urge to tape a "kick me sign" to his back?

Great image as he heads off into the unknown dark hallway to do the unknown, with unknown results.... I like it.

And you know, the way his cape seems to swing around a lot and the the way he's dragging that unsheathed sword, I'm surprised that the former doesn't snag on the latter's tip at some point. But that's maybe howe end got slightly tattered.

Another wonderful blooper idea there! Thanks for the compliment. Luther's efforts, in many ways, seem to end up having negative effects on the wrong parts of his wardrobe, the city of Dernhem, EVERY WOMAN he knows... It's definitely a problem.
