Description A rather quick sketch of Luke, trying to lift the X-wing out of the swamp on Dagobah--again for a challenge. This was done on a medium-textured paper, which accounts for some of the "roughness" of the image.

this is beautiful and one of my favorite moments in the whole saga. I still get goosebumps everytime yoda lifts that x-wing

Thank you so much for taking time to look and comment!

"I still get goosebumps everytime yoda lifts that x-wing"

Me, too! And when Luke stumbles back to him, dumbfounded, stunned, and says "I...I don't believe it!" Yoda's quiet and knowing reply: "That is why you fail."
More goosebumps!

Thanks again for the comments and especially for the !

Very impressive and capturing the resemblance to the 100 percent!...I can almost hear Joda humming on the background...cueing in the stream of Luke's concentration...

Thanks so much! I'm glad there's a recognizable likeness: Hamill's face is a real challenge for me (though I tend to draw him a LOT!), so it's good to hear! Much appreciation for the visit and the comments! And--if you celebrate--I hope you have a wonderful holiday season!

Hey, the "roughness" only enhances the image. There's nothing glamorous about the Dagobah training: he's constantly covered in sweat, dirt, etc; had I your skill, I would have gone for that look deliberately. This is great.

Thank you! I've had more than one comment about the suitability of the paper's roughness--I'm glad it works! Sometimes we grab whatever paper we have handy--this was one of those times! Thanks for the kind comments!

Many thanks! Mark Hamill's is a tough likeness to get right consistently (for ME, anyway--hence a number of missteps with it in the gallery! lol!), but I plan to keep on trying--glad you think this one resembles him! Thanks so much for ing it, too! You're sweet!

This was such a powerful scene in ESB: the seminal moment, the true test of faith, where Luke must cast off his old life and beliefs and commit himself completely to the new...and he stumbles, falls... He tries, so hard--but the old beliefs reassert themselves, and he is once again forced to start over--to "unlearn" what he had learned so well before... I think we all go through something like this in life--it's that journey we make many times, in becoming: casting off what we knew and thought would work forever for new learning, and new ways of being... Reality is what we make it, after all! Thank you again, for commenting and for ing it!

I love the use of rough paper. It totally adds to the picture. I see it as the old films. The old films have this rough quality to it... and the newer ones, because of the technology, are crisp. So with the use of your rough paper, and quick sketching, goodness... Its like looking at the old film itself. LOVE IT.

Dont know if you did that intentionally, but I wouldnt like it as much if you had done it on smooth bristol or something and had every detail worked out.

Maybe that's to artsy fartsy... but yeah, LOVE StarWars and I love this piece for how it turned out.

Thanks for bringing it about.

Thank you for the kind words! I don't work on paper with texture too much (especially since it's tough to get fine detail onto it), but for this piece, and the scene it was referenced from, it seemed to work out. So glad it appeals to you, and I very much appreciate the added !

PS--I love SW too!

Thank you so much--I thought so too, when I finally finished it: that time on Dagobah had him so scruffy and dirty, the graininess of the paper just seemed appropriate to the piece! I very much appreciate the visit, the kind words and especially the ! And yeah--we ALL love Luke!
