Description Just scribbling in the sketchbook, thinking about the 30th anniversary coming up... It's not much of a likeness, and the shading isn't very clean, but I figured I'd put it up anyway... I may try another of him from this photo--haven't decided yet.

I just wasn't that pleased with it, mostly because the likeness lacks. No other reason, really (I have a few like that! )--thank you so much for the for it, though!

messy can be beautiful too! As my art teacher always kept telling me. I really like this style, it still looks lifelike yet you can tell its a drawing and not a photograph and incredible likeness! Such a cool contrast to the old luke skywalker in your gallery. Love it!

I'm glad you like it, and that the likeness fits--it's always a chore to draw Mark Hamill's unique face (he's tough to "get right!"), so it's nice to hear that it looks like him! This is extremely good. I love how detailed it is... I also know by experience how hard it is to draw his dimple. Looks like you succeeded greatly! I really like this piece.

Luke's entire face is difficult to draw, IMO--it seems to look different from every angle, which makes getting the feature placement correct rather difficult... But I'm glad if it looks okay--especially the "chin dimple!" Thank you for taking time to find this, and to comment so kindly (and especially for ing it!)!

This is great. I hated his perfectly combed hair in this movie. They should have kept it shaggy. I think it's a great likeness

OHMYGOD!!!!! You've made my day. I love this. You captured him sooooo nicely. The shading is fantastic. I have considered drawing that very same angle in the past. It's one of my most favorite scenes in RotJ.

The eyes just jump out at you - even at thumbnail size. I see what you mean about the likeness to the actor but I think this is a good thing In portraits the subject tends to like them more when you have ironed out all their little imperfections. So this is a good vision of the ideal rather than the real.
I like the style too, it produces a nice soft but solid rendering of the form.

I don't think you can be in any doubt that you can produce a likeness - it is far more telling when you do not... I think in this you have produced the character - a true triumph.

Definantly not a scrap, ai I love his eyes, they have a realness to them that's superb! I think it's a great likeness actually, a slight change in the style i've seen in your other sketches and it works really well
I really wanna touch his hair too XD.
