Description exactly like the title said. I stayed in one place for ages to get this close to them. they are tiny and always buzzing around.

It's hard to get a focused shot though haha i was sweating through the entire thing ahha.  xD I love nature too, but my new camera is a DSLR and I don't have a macro lens forced to used my bridge camera until I get a lens or get a extension tube, which to me btw is still alot of money haha

LOL... you too? I have been fascinated this summer by the hoverflies... shot a few myself. At first, and from afar, I thought they were waps.. was tempted to swat them away..

very cooperative little creatures they are too...

I love the blue/purplish contrast, mine always hovered around orange lilies, not as pretty

wasps are alot bigger ahha btw thanks, I had no idea what they were called they're great, but the wind makes my camera not focus... -.- very furstrating I bought a nikon d7000 now so I won't have that problem anymore xD

I've been shooting all my pics with a little point-and-shoot, not an easy task with moving flies and wind-swept lilies. For every photo that turned out alright I threw away 20 that were not

Sadly, I recently inherited my dad's Canon 460D but have yet to learn how to handle a DSLR. Looking forward to the experience though

I recently bought my first DSLR, It took me watching a hour long tutorial on youtube and flicking through a few pages of the manual last night for me to understand how to use my nikon d7000. it is awesome though I tried it today  I have to say, canon cameras are awesome too

I've been using the manual setting on my little Lumix for the last year.. best preparation for a 'BIG' one.. I'm more the trial and error type anyway, not much of a fan of manuals. tutorials are cool though, I've learned a lot over the years, be it Photoshop, or photography, or languages, baking and loads more.

and making mistakes and learning from them is the best way for me.

looking forward to making many more mistakes

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AgonizingSwordfish In reply to Fan-Gogh [2013-08-17 18:28:27 +0000 UTC]

I want to get a better camera too! Definitely one where you can adjust the shutter speed

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Fan-Gogh In reply to AgonizingSwordfish [2013-08-17 20:56:19 +0000 UTC]

haha mine is like, the shutter speed can change, but it's not in manual mode, but instead in different settings like "landscape. portait. sport" bla bla bla like that. I don't need the camera to tell me what to do thanks lol

btw did you know that nature group put me into the weekly contest again! what's funny is, that they picked a photo that was basicly the photo they picked the first time but from a different angle lolll

but I had a look at the other ones, they are just amazing. so I don't think I have a chance lol. to be honest, I think taking part in it is sort of like a feature in a way anyways so I'm not too fussed to lose.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AgonizingSwordfish In reply to Fan-Gogh [2013-08-17 22:04:39 +0000 UTC]

I didn't notice that! I'll have to go look there!

And I agree It is like a mini feature, no matter the results
