Description Shadow of the Moon
In the shadow of the moon,
She danced in the starlight
Whispering a haunting tune
To the night...
Velvet skirts spun 'round and 'round
Fire in her stare
In the woods without a sound
No one cared...
Through the darkened fields entranced,
Music made her poor heart dance,
Thinking of a lost romance...
Long ago...
Feeling lonely, feeling sad,
She cried in the moonlight.
Driven by a world gone mad
She took flight...
"Feel no sorrow, feel no pain,
Feel no hurt, there's nothing gained...
Only love will then remain,"
She would say.
Shadow of the Moon...
Shadow of the Moon...
Shadow of the Moon...
Shadow of the Moon...

Through the darkened fields entranced,
Music made her poor heart dance,
Thinking of a lost romance...
Long ago...

Somewhere just beyond the mist
Spirits were seen flying
As the lightning led her way
Through the dark...

In the shadow of the moon,
She danced in the starlight
Whispering a haunting tune
To the night...

Shadow of the Moon...
Shadow of the Moon...
Shadow of the Moon...
Shadow of the Moon...
Shadow of the Moon...
Shadow of the Moon...
Shadow of the Moon...
Shadow of the Moon...

I decided to re-do this piece for several reasons
-It is my favorite song and the last one didn't really do it justice
-I love the idea of using myself as the model since I have always felt a major connection to the song.
-I have learned a lot more tricks about photoshop and photomanipulation so I felt I could create something better this time.

*****EDIT*****
I tweaked the shadowing to increase the shading at the model's feet as well as a slight tweak to make the blending more natural. :-D

Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys it!
As always, critiques, comments, suggestions etc are welcome and greatly appreciated.

firstly, you have combined the stocks brilliantly! the beautiful model fits in really well with the dark, dense forest.

i have used these brushes before also, and you have used them fantastically, to put a spotlight on the model, it really stands out! i also love how you've used it for moonlight, its very original.

i also love the way she is looking up at the light.. its a really powerful image. she is the main subject here because of this.

the trees around her really close and border the image perfectly.

overall i think this is a beautiful manipulation. well done.

Firstly I love the song have one of the albumse.deviantart.net/emoticons/let… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Lick)"/>
I love the colours in this the soft greens in the light are great.
I like the way the moonlight is coming through the trees and streaming down onto the model.
I like the way the greens and blues merge in the light too.
You have clerly thought about the imagery because the scene fits the lyrics very well.
The model seems so alone, yet at peace.
The positioning of the model is good too, I like the way the rays are centeredthey shine down beautifully on the subject.
Great team effort and the piece is a credit to you all.
Well done>a.deviantart.net/avatars/x/p/x… " alt=" " title="Xpose-it"/>

the shadow isnt projected right. it should be going the opposite way since the light is behind you. you could increas the contrast more because by having the light behind your feature would be outlined in light were the front of you would be darker. how did you get the background to have the blue tint?? i would have used the color balance to give it a more natural tint, which fro.m looking at that you didnt do. love how you blended the bottom of the cloak, love the attention to detail there. and the light beam was blended very well

Actually if you look carefully she is standing within the light, or rather, below the light source.
As for the blue tint, night light tends to have a blue hue to it and the concept of the piece certainly leaves room for some enchantment
Thank you for the comments and praise though, I greatly appreciate it ^_^
