The Life Story Of A 1970 Chevy Chevelle (Part 11 of 42) August 16th, 1979 Somewhere near Odessa, Texas. About a year ago, Lloyd traded in his 1970 Chevy Chevelle for a new truck for work. The Chevelle sat on the dealership's second hand car lot for a few months until it caught the eye of Austin Baker, a careless, classless, half drunk amateur moonshiner who lived about 20 minutes out of town on his decadent property that had been in the family for generations. He saw the chevelle on the lot, and recalled wanting a loaded up 1970 Chevelle when they were introduced nine years earlier, but could never afford one. This second hand chevelle's appearance was a little rough, but it was still mechanically sound, because Lloyd had always been diligent of the car's mechanical maintenance when he owned it. It was a steal, The car was selling at an incredible discount due to some of the minor damages it had. It seemed too good to be true, so Austin brought the thing home with him back in February. Jump forward to August, we can see Austin has souped it up with some new slotted mag wheels, a Blower, and some side pipes... all of which were probably stolen. He had been extensively reading through dozens of copies of Car Craft, and Hot Rod magazines while sipping his moonshine through an old siphon hose like a straw to keep both his hands free. His intoxication, magazines, and general carelessness had him so preoccupied that he forgot all about the roadkill he had put on the BBQ earlier as it burst into flames. Even though the Chevelle had some new life breathed into it with all these new accessories, Its life could potentially be on the line when we consider that its new owner will unfortunately be the one driving it.
