This be my fanart for 's HiNaBN apocalypse fic "Up in Smoke". [link]Inspired by this scene in part 2:
"That's what happens when ya die, Connie. One minute yer somebody, next minute yer nobody. Tha's how it goes."
"I don't understand," the younger man burst out, almost spat. "Nothing makes sense. This isn't life, this isn't what life is supposed to be like! I don't get it!"

I quite literally spent my entire day on this. Maybe foregoing getting dressed and eating until 6ish (though I'm still not dressed)
The title is named after the self-same title of a Patrick Wolf song. I listened to the album "The Bachelor" over and over doing this... it was very helpful.

This is so perfect! I never used to really read fanfic until I discovered the whole Up In Smoke 'verse. And this picture is captures the whole tone just so dead on.
And I love how you drew Worth in a style that blends the exaggerated-ness of the comic with the realism of the fic. And that car... And Connie's outfit... It's all great.
