Featuring Bro , a 6 yo Faime gelding, and Mickey , a 8 months old Faime colt

She had been dead nervous all day long. Usually, when horses came in, she wasn’t as nervous. She mostly was excited or enthusiastic about their arrival and eager to start working with them, but it almost never had been a foal who was moved over countries to come over to their stables. There was so much to go wrong and there was nothing she could do about it but wait. With a big sigh she leaned against the fence that kept Bro in his pasture. She had divided his small, personal pasture into two with white poles and lines so the new colt could get used to the palomino gelding before they would be set together. And even though Bro wouldn’t hurt a fly, she was kinda nervous about that too. ‘’But you promise you won’t hurt him, won’t you?’’ she said, while she softly stroke the palomino over his small but thick head.
Bro lifted his head and threw a indignant look at her, as if he wanted to say how can you even think about that. He made a quick turn with his ears, a routine he had made himself comfortable with and snorted against her head before he buried his face against her chest.
Lexi could only laugh by the look on his face and the way he hid his face in her jacket. ‘’Yeah you’re right, I know you won’t,’’ she said, as if she wanted to comfort him in his sorrow of her bad thinking. Because he really was right - Bro wouldn’t even hurt a fly that would annoy the hairs off his butt. She scratched him under his mane, on the spot he loved most - the spot where he himself couldn’t scratch himself as good as he wanted. But she looked up from their private moment when she heard a dark voice coming towards her.
‘’You’re ready for this?’’ It was Billy’s deep voice that she heard and just as she looked up, he took the last few steps towards her. She had to keep herself from staring in his mosh green eyes that almost captivated her every time he caught her eyes. She smiled and turned her head back to Bro who was leaning into her with his eyes closed. ‘’I guess I am.’’
He chuckled while he leaned into the fence. ‘’I mean, you really have to get a little used to this. If this little colt is already too much for your heart to handle, than those two small heartbreaker will definitely leave you lame.’’ He grinned and looked at her with his green eyes, a certain playful look hidden into the deep green color. He looked at her tanned face for a little while before he looked at Bro, who was - as usual - trying to hide in her chest. The gelding just breezed lightly and didn’t even mind to lift his head up from their cuddling moment.
Lexi pulled a silly face, knowing he was teasing her. ‘’Don’t say that. They will be fine. They’re not small… or, well, maybe they’re small, but they’re not young anymore’’, she said while she looked up at him, giving Bro a last scratch under his mane. She could hear a car riding up the driveway and knew that it just had to be the transport company that was transporting the young colt to their stables. ‘’And I bet you are just as nervous when they bring June over.’’ She smiled, knowing she had him, and turned around in her elegant way of doing, to walk away from both him and the palomino gelding to greet the transporter and the brand new colt. Billy could only follow her with his eyes, shaking his head. She sure was spicy sometimes - he knew she was right.

Not much time later Bro and Mickey were greeting each other through poles with lines that separated their paddocks. After a small hour of grooming and greeting with the line between them, Lexi decided it would be fine to let Mickey in with Bro. And indeed as she thought it would, Bro let the colt approach him and adopted the young thing as if it was his own foal.
