My first Helen's suicide mission.EDIT: Lol. To clarify, this is not actually possible. What happened was....I don't know actually. A glitch obviously. My squadies simply ceased to be visible in the cutscene, they actually were present. Helen made it through with no fatalities.

Sutori-Artifex is right just the do loyalty missions and upgrades, use common sense in assigning your squad members.

Psssh. I nailed it in one shot. First time playing ME2 and I got everyone out alive.
Just focus on paying for Normandy Upgrades which at the time I thought were important already, and do everyone's loyalty mission BEFORE going after the IFF and you're good. If you get lucky with the game's "chance" system you'll get a build in which the game will give you time to do Legion's Loyalty mission immediately after acquiring him. Tried to do a minor merc side-mission and got the Collector Attack. Since I knew I was ready I just went straight for the base and saved the crew.
((I will admit I had to reload because I wasn't paying attention and made Mordin fireteam leader instead of crew escort like a dumbass, but that doesn't count as a second run because it was literally the same run and I genuinely thought that I was selecting an escort.))

You do have to be careful about the order you do loyalty missions in, though. If you don't have enough paragon or renegade stored up to talk down the Miranda/Jack and Tali/Legion conflicts, you'll lose at least one person.

Not strictly true, it just means you need to be more careful with your choices and such. You can also regain loyalties through dialogue.

You managed to do that? I'm surprised.
I once did a game where I made the most people die on purpose. For the second part of the mission, the fire leader was Samara (she was also the only one left alive besides my team at that point) and she survived even though she should have died after that. She was the only audience for the speach lol.

God, why are all first suicide missions such fails? I think Jacob, Mordin, Grunt, and Jack got killed on my first run, but I couldn't accept it and ended up reloading. And then Legion got killed. 
Poor Helen. If I was her, I'd be SCARED.

He he, this is why I HATE boss fights ... I'm always doing something wrong and end up unable to complete the ruddy game.
Well, surprisingly, this didn't happen with ME2 thank goodness. Even if it had, I would probably have died of laughter long before that giant human-Reaper larva got me. What an anticlimax finding that thing at the end of the game ...

even in the final boss fight, my squad mates did nothing!!! i had to kill the reaper myself, they occasionally chipped in when collector drones came down to play.

How is that even possible? I tried my best to kill everyone in one of my playthroughs. Even so, I was able to get 2 teammates for final bossfight. Of course, they were killed after that..but this is still very different!

Two possibilities: 1. They used Gibbed's Save Editor ([link] ) to remove all squad mates, or 2. They used Photoshop to edit them out of the picture. It is otherwise impossible to face the final boss alone.
