Description Rocky's such a good model. Sun was coming in through the kitchen window, and he was sitting, facing towards it in my reference photo. I love doing high contrast drawings like this, so I thought I'd use some graphite.

Edit - Got rid of that mouth line. It looked cartoony to me.

Drawn with an HB mechanical pencil and a 6B drawing pencil.

Thanks! It took a while to fill the entire thing in with graphite.

Oh yeah. I usually get hand cramping, but it's not too bad.

He's my sister's cat. He likes to lay in my lap when she gets fed up with his meowing.

A lot of people tell me he resembles their cat(s). It's kind of scary. XD

Awww he looks really nice Beautiful work on the shading n___n I love the contrast of different tones and shades in this piece it really sets a nice mood and atmosphere :3 and the shades all look really nice and smooth 8D especially the black of the background Lovely job on the details, especially on the short fur on the face and also on the eye too awesome piccy!!!!

Normally I *hate* whiskers on art, since they look so tacked on and fake, but you really pull it off!

I have trouble with them most of the time. This drawing was hard too, since he had his whiskers forward, which looked funny. ( I was waving a toy in front of him, and he was getting ready to bite/swat at it. ) There were a couple of them on the side of the face, but it looked unnatural when I put them in, so I left them out.

Heehee! Whiskers are a pain.. I really respect ANY artist who pulls them off.

On reference for Traum- I usually clip his whiskers, and Coves are naturally short. Since Traum is a show dog, I like to keep him looking like one- which means you can ignore my boys whiskers!! haha
