I managed to fav and run when I first saw this a while back, but every time I stumble across it I'm completely captivated by the symbolism (whether you intended on that symbolism or not). Trees represent so many different things, incuding flaws, and it makes for a much more beautiful idea than the cliche wings. Plus I get the bonus of looking at gorgeous body structure and amazing color blends. This has been in my favorites for a long time now, and I figured it was about time I gave this wonderful piece the praise it deserves!

i really like this one, after viewing your whole gallery. it takes a lot of skill to make a contour drawing so true to life, yet stylish. dig the wallpaper pattern and palette too.

Call me silly but I like this one best of all. Ver'unusual. I like the heavy ink outlines. I also like the sort of old fashioned wallpaper-lookin' backgrounds you do... It looks very good on this'n too.

it could be tree spirit, it could be general growth and simultaneous death. i thought the placement suggested wings, there was no arbitrary definition, just thoughts.

I get annoyed these days when I see an image of a girl-with-wings on deviantart. I mean crap, it isn't interesting, inspired or original and it's a cliche. However, this puts a cool spin on it. Good job!

yeah. i love wings, i'm pretty much obsessed with the idea of flying, but i avoid painting too many wingy things for just that reason, it's overdone. they're still beautiful, and compelling, however, which is the whole reason for the overdone-ness. so anyway, these ones are like the dream of flight losing to the physical impossibility. inspired by Titus, the movie, in some ways, i was very struck by the beautiful, horrible scene where his daughter is standing with her hands cut off and the tree limbs tied to her wrists.

It rocks! I love the combination of the carfully painted background and branches on the comix-style rendering of the figure with the thick black lines.
