Description
My series, "Femmes Fatales", undoubtedly owes a lot to film noir. It is the genre that gave us hard-boiled detectives and dangerous dames embroiled in mysterious plots that interweave sex and crime. Of course, "Femmes Fatales" subverts a lot of the conventions within the genre by placing the women at the focal point as the detectives.

I really wanted to pay homage to film noir so that's how and why I came up with this. Andie is one of the central figures in my series and she acts as the primary detective at "Femmes Fatales Investigations". She's smart, witty and completely badass... not to mention sexy! I drew Andie here in a typical film noir detective's ensemble -- a trenchcoat and fedora. Of course, I did style it up a bit by giving her some fabulous heels.

The drawing itself is referenced from an image of Shannen Doherty atop a piano. Shannen is my big inspiration for Andie and I actually tailored the character around her.
