As you can tell from this piece, she's actually part of a group called Batgirl Incorporated in my fanon.
If you're a fan of the Titans West, I suggest you keep your eyes peeled. I have plans for them.

Would the plans involve references to that one issue of Hawk and Dove where a reformed Titans West (with Dial H For Hero!) beat up a bunch of dead villains (including The Top and a Clayface I'm pretty sure was #2), then Gen. J.E.B. Stuart of the Haunted Tank helps Icicle get to Heaven?

Ha-ha! Nope! But both Hawk and Dove are in the team. You can check out the roster in my most recent journal entry.

I don't really know anything about Bette Kane other than she was the first Batgirl, and sidekick to the original Batwoman, so I'm kinda walking into this blind, which is why it took me a while to comment on this. First off, this is reminding me of Ahsoka Tano even more than your Hawkgirl, since, in addition to the skirt, the outfit's mostly reddish-brown. 'Course, that's not at all a bad thing since Ahsoka's got a great outfit.Β
The costume is pretty simple, which is fine because that badass cape really says it all. Her mask is pretty cool looking too. I sorta reminds me of Damien Wayne's mask. I'm also diggin' the ponytail. It's simple, cute andΒ practical. I also like the backstory you've cooked up. With so many different characters in Gotham, basing her in LA really does help her have her own identity, with her connections to Kate and Dick still keeping her within the Bat-verse.

I'm definitely curious to see what you do with Steph, both her story and her design.Β As I said on Barbara's piece, I really like the idea of all the Batgirls having their own team, especially with The Birds of Prey being the inspiration.

I'm not sure when I'll get around to Steph. She fell in the bottom tier of the votes, so she'll be shuffled into round two of the voting. I'll be posting shortly with a revised list for you all to choose from.

Interesting. I feel as though I'm looking at Supergirl in a Bat-themed costume.Β

Wow I've never heard of Flame bird but she turned out great!
((Yeah I missed a lot in DC... ))

Nice design. It takes me back to the days when Bette was Spoiler, before Spoiler was Batgirl. Heck, even before Spoiler was Spoiler. I always felt her plot arc in Batwoman did tremendous damage to the character and never cared for the Hawkfire identity.
Top to bottom, I like this look. It's flamboyant and exuberant, just like Bette should be.

Thanks! I'm glad you like the design. You know, I wish her shortened name were Liz instead of Bette if only because so many people pronounce Bette the wrong way.

Interestingly, there's not a whole lot of angst and tragedy across the board thus far in my version of the DCU. Batgirl Inc is intended to be similar in tone to the Simone era Birds of Prey.
