The fact that he was such a cute HAPPY kid with bright eyes actually made me fear the rest of the scenes all the more even when knowing what the end result will be. Aughh I was feeling full of absolute dread when Kerry was replaying those last moments of Shirley in his head

Then she herself turn to a dead apostle, she couldn't control the bloodlust and went on a rampage, even tho she didn't want to hurt anyone.

PFFT I read the translated novels so I knew what happened, did they already release that episode? It was a bonus chapter in the novels.

Yeah the episode is already released (episode 18). And yeah, it's an interlude/intermission, but they probably included it in the actual episodes because in the previous episodes there really wasn't enough of Kiritsugu's background/thoughts.
(I actually read the novels too, but I still felt pretty anxious waiting for what I knew was coming to happen lol)
