Hope you like it...! I used a different style this time, trying to match the one from the comic!
Please don't get the wrong idea here... Sabre happens to become a traitor to the Hedgies Team so I thought it would be nice to get it on the canvas.
Luminous is pretty much like 'Are you going to betray us using that toy of yours?'. Why, of course, we need some drama going on in the team. And if nobody wants to take a leap, I will cause mayhem with my Sabre, because, why not
I will post the back story of his possibly tomorrow. I will be drawing more group pictures from now on as well, to have other members of the team interact with each other!
Oh, and the short comic is coming soon too. So much to do, so little time.
And I still gotta post his ref. What am I waiting for?

Goodness! What a truly mind-blowing and phenomenal drawing of Sabre and Luminous! I love how Luminous is confronting Sabre here and that he is looking at Luminous and listening to what he says. Sure hope he gets some sense put back into him!
I really love the shines on the jewels and the glove rings and the glow from that amulet! And so amazing that you drew a coloured background for each of them, along with their own coloured aura around them! And the style of you drawing these two, along with the colouring, the shadings and highlights and the tiny details!
This whole drawing is absolutely breathtaking and full of serious and emotion in this!

Oh yes, the orb effect is always my favourite to work on. I love to make reflections and such... wouldn't work in this piece though, it would need to be a pure lineless art.
I will be honest with you here... I was supposed to draw a fully detailed background for this, but I simply ran out of time... this colouring here took me 2 evenings and I couldn't stand any minute longer on this. I am getting old, my friend. I used to spend days, weeks... on the biggest piece even months... can't waste my time like that anymore if I am not getting paid for my work

What you do is always stunning and beautiful! Well, I take way longer with drawing things. I hate it myself. I understand your frustration. I need to do more work and finish them a lot quicker. Just the times where I don’t have a chance, laze around or just can’t be bothered sometimes. I don’t like it when I am like that with the last two reasons. Can’t help with the first one.

Thank you so much for such kind compliments. As much as I love to colour stuff, I just find it easier to sketch more as it takes less time to work on them, and I really want to fill up my gallery with 100 drawings as quick as I can haha. It's more about finding that balance now, where I want to make stuff quicker but keep the same or at least a satisfying level of good quality art. Don't want to spend more than a day on one drawing anymore, if you know what I am trying to say...

Oh wow nice. Like the idea of that sort of backstory going on. If that's the case the expressions fit the setting really well. A sense of foreboding or that something isn't quite right, as it were.
Firstly, love the background. As simplistic as it is, the ominous blur of the cool colours from luminous and more sinister purple tinge from Sabre does give it an insiduous feel which is great.
Always dig those sorts of moody and brooding atmospheres. Also doesn't detract from the subject matters but adds to it or compliments the hedgehogs.
Luminous' expression though xD I can't tell if he's angry, disappointed, being sensual or restraining Sabre in an empathic manner but whatever the approach, it's all the better that the viewer can't quite
read the tone. Yes it's a certain mood tone but which one exactly is ominous.
Likewise, not sure if Sabre is showing any remorse or whether he's resentful or just darned irritated. It's great. They both look spectacular and love how close they're standing to each other.
It's almost unnerving and like you can cut the atmosphere with a knife.
Further to add, as always love the anatomy you've portrayed for both hedgies. I can relate with regards to your other comment, I too have drawn way more male hedgies than female but still an
art in itself which not many people get right imho.
Attention to detail on the hands and gloves are great. People forget how much body language hands carry. That being said, not sure how powerful that talisman or item Sabre's wearing that Luminous has in his hand
but leaves one to feel somewhat unsettled. Especially if we're going by the virtue of what you've said in the description.
Really gorgeous rich colours and love the texture. Looks so professional and neatly formulated.

Now I don't even remember what I wanted to say to you...
Let me start over!
I am really getting into my character's development these days. I have never had so much fun designing my main chara like this before... Sure, I had Kasidy and Lavyet but I didn't use them just as much and I always felt that I didn't give them enough love. It's rather pathetic not to have your own FC these days, when everyone has one. It also makes things easier when peple want to draw gifts for you or you want to commission them. A picture of your own character is always a nice thin to have.
See... Luminous and Sabre's connection is a weird one I must admit. I am not going to talk about the other members of the group here, but taking your Wraith as an example: I totally see my Sabre comfortable around your Wraith. They are both quite relaxed, aren't they? Not sure about Wraith, but Sabre can get a bit grumpy and irritated by everything and everyone. I made him a copy of myself lol. He's got all the qualities of mine, seriously! It helps me work on my sh** more whenever I look at this character hahaha, if that makes sense...
Luminous and Sabre don't like each other at first. Sabre doesn't mind him around until Luminous starts getting in his way. Because he looks up to him a little bit too much and that turns into something more than just trying to be a nice pal, you know. And Sabre is not really in the right place to respond to those feelings lol. We like to make jokes about it. Their bond is essentially a reflection of our friendship (Blue's and mine that is). I just adore it
I really want to push our group more as a whole, but I can't do it on my own. I think everyone is just too busy with their stuff at the moment... and I can't get in touch with Nero.
Maybe a group picture will trigger something in everyone, time will tell. Have to push my commissions first though. I keep delaying the group picture all the time, but I have no other choice.

I always see drawing hands as a challenge itself! There is so much to them. Muscles and fingers look always differently under a different angle - there's so much to experiment with!
I am not so sure about his talisman just yet. I may draw him releasing its' powers at some point, got that picture in my head already, but that would be rather destructive and if I was ever to make him use it in the comic or else... that would maybe happen once, when he is supposed to betray everyone. Will see what happens. I am working on the script slowly... Blue does the sketching. It's on hold now as I am busy with commissions but I am looking to start releasing the pages very soon

Mmm... well I should really show you his backstory! Basically, I had to redesign him for the team since he used to look a little bit different and had that sense of justice and duty of serving his kingdom well. In that story he dies so when it came to designing new characters I thought I would change things a little and make him somehow survive. So I have him taking different powers and changing his personality/appearance here. But as he works for bad guys he pretty much joins the team seeing it as one of his missions to obtain their abilities for the greater evil out there. Well, it may become difficult for him to do so as he starts enjoying everyone's company more than he should.
We all need to come up with a reason of why we all join each other. That's why I need everyone's bios in the server first so we can make more out of it together

In all honesty, Blue, your second to last page of the comic inspired me to draw this scene a lot. The first panel, that is where they face each other. That was magnificent.
Is it the colours that make up for the moment, you think? I giggled a lot when I was shading those two too xD
It didn't look just as great without all the special effects and shading. I will show you the WIPS tomorrow if I don't forget.
