I'm planning on trying to make something very similar to this (despite never properly crafting anything before) can I ask what type of leather you used to attach the chain mail onto, I'm planning on riveting aluminium chain onto other leather, as I've been told that that's the lightest chain you can get, but if you could tell me what leather would be the lightest yet still capable of having chain riveted to it, that would be amazing. Cheers regardless of whether you respond or not, just seeing that there is kit out there that is similar to the stuff in my head is reassuring, doubely so considering how awesome it looks.

Where do you get links for this type of thing?

That chain mail... I applaud you for taking the time and effort to hand craft it. That is on my "Never-To-Craft-Again" list. lol
