Description
So my version of young Verdona is quite different from how she really looked but I'm still happy with her! I drew this back in January/ February so I didn't even realise they had made an episode about her at that point. Maybe I'll do a comparison between the 2 versions later. Below is my original description:

I've been wanting to do a piece on Max and Verdona (Ben 10's grandparents for those outside of the fandom) in their youth and I thought it would be nice to speculate how they met. This was all done in Adobe Illustrator so I had some practice with vectors which I usually avoid because I find them time- consuming. This was for a worthy cause though!

I drew the pair meeting at a party, Verdona must have had a thing for guys in uniform because I drew Max in his plumbers' suit (though not the full armour or it would give him away). He looks a bit like Captain Kirk come to think of it.

Verdona has a slight hippie-chick look going on because she seems the type, being free spirited and all and it fits the period (1960s). It also gave me an excuse to have her wear a mana flower in her hair. It was difficult deciding how she would look but I went along with dark brown hair as it went well with her blue eyes and Max already has the auburn hair. Ben possibly has more of her colouring and Gwen has her general features.

The scenes in this comic take place after a night of hectic dancing (probably to the songs of their favorite group Shag Carpeting). Verdona and Max have only just met and had a chance to chat. They have not yet exchanged names, phone numbers etc. but having telepathic abilities Verdona already knows all about Max. I think Max would've defiantly found her intriguing even without knowing she's an Anodite (Anodyte?).
