Description I'm playing with styles for a series of Norse myth graphic novels I may illustrate later. It is very sketchy, the concept is random and the spelling and grammar is probably incorrect but it is just for laughs. Full-view this to read the text.

I'm trying to keep this series separate from the Marvel comics and Thor movie but Loki still vaguely resembles Tom Hiddleston because he embodies the character so well. However his hair is a bit more messy and curly (as is Tom's in real life) and if this were in colour it would probably be reddish. Poor Sigyn has a whole army of step children to contend with. Here is the 2nd 'comic' [link] .

For those unfamiliar with Norse mythology you can read about the children here [link] otherwise their names are below:

Eldest: Fenrir
Middle child: Jormungand
Youngest: Hel

Wow! I'm a fan of Norse mythology as well, love the little Hel twist at the end. You make Fenrir so cute! But even though he isn't Angerboda's, you should have included Slepnir. Oh, and just in case you wanted to ask, I didn't actually look at your little character summary until after I wrote that. I want you to know that I am an actual fan, not just some random person pretending to know stuff they don't (hate people like that).

P.S. I love Hiddles so much!

Sleipner was the oldest
..In original mythology, I cannot stop feeling that Loke is unjustified with everything that happened to all his children to punish loke for something minor. Talk about a nice dad, huh.

I love this one.

Wish it could have been like this. Who knows. Maybe it was like this before the three became to much of a threat to the Æsir(the gods).

AnnaKitty In reply to reidsgirl2013 [2013-06-09 10:42:34 +0000 UTC]

They sent her to Hel because they believed her and her brothers a threat to Asgard. It wasn't until after that that she refused to give Baldur back after Loki killed him.

The kids will probably be all grown up by the time we get to the 21st century. The artist needs to work on her fashion awareness too.

I believe the gods grow with us and follow the time.
Their stories might be repeated, or hey might evolve... I dont know...

But You can see my modern clothing of the Norse gods here or on my dev profile...

I really like to see how others would see the gods in a modern eye!
In my opinion they are still here, and they shape, dress and somewhat act to our expectancy's
What is our ideas an expectancy's?

DaggerRavionFall In reply to feralkin [2011-09-26 05:30:59 +0000 UTC]

This much is true. I have been writing my own spin off of the myths and Sigyn is no pushover, and she has his sense of humor.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

feralkin In reply to DaggerRavionFall [2011-09-26 12:02:22 +0000 UTC]

I must have a look at that. There's a reason why Loki stuck with her the longest of any of his relationships.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DaggerRavionFall In reply to feralkin [2011-09-27 02:47:02 +0000 UTC]

Oh, my story? I have art of it up, but that's about it. I am kind of afraid of posting it.

But yes, I agree. There had to be a reason he married her.

Actually, according to some myths, he married her first and left her for Angreboda, but again, the myths are open to interpretation. There is not that much information on either Angreboda or Sigyn, so who knows who they really were or what they were really like, or what their relationship was like, and that's the beauty of it. We get to use our imaginations.

In my story, I made them both the same person, where starts out as a split personality and eventually merges into the full persona of Sigunna Angreboda. Again, I am pretty embarrassed about actually publishing it for fear that the really hard core Norse Pagans will trample me. lol.

Rodlox In reply to DaggerRavionFall [2013-10-14 21:01:43 +0000 UTC]

that interpretation makes sense.

once, I found a short fanfic which explained how Sigyn, Sif, and Angrboda could be the same person.

feralkin In reply to DaggerRavionFall [2011-09-27 05:25:06 +0000 UTC]

I think that's a nice twist portraying Sigyn and Angrboda as the same person, it certainly sorts out some of Loki's fidelity issues. Mythology is open to interpretation but I understand why you would rather not post certain pieces up. I also think to myself, is this going to go down well? when working on some pieces. I'm quite casual about mythology and fandoms at large but some take them very seriously.

DaggerRavionFall In reply to feralkin [2011-09-27 06:05:44 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, some almost too seriously. I am glad you enjoy my interpretation, as I most certainly enjoy yours.
