Description Huzzah for Holiday break! I drew this picture months ago and just now got around to coloring it with my Prismas. How my shoulder aches... I've been hunched over it for a total of about 4 hours today. ^-^
Please don't ramble at me about Egyptian gods and how this doesn't fit - I know it doesn't. It's fantasy and I just liked the idea. She's not Isis, she's not a follower of Set or however you spell his name. And if the hieroglyphs are wrong, I really don't care - they were moreso put there to fill in the border.

Translation of Egyptian text: (according to The Book of the Dead) from left to top to right - 'Behold, I am the heir of eternity.' 'I have sailed over the heavens.' 'Natalie' (My name!)

i love her .. she is a beuty... or however you spell that., i believe that one geys name is spelled seti... i am probally wrong.. unless im thinking of the wrong person BUT EITHER WAY im faving it,, good luck with your drawings and such.

Thank you! I believe there is a male deity with a name like Set who is part snake. It's not something I really look into anymore, I just like to draw my own interpretations from the few things I remember.

Wow, I love this picture. o_o

The details in her scales and the background! Her pose and her face give her a majestic presence. You know she's in charge! Her pose isn't exactly the same pose that are in egyptian drawings, but it has enough of the resemblence to identify it with that type of pose, and it's loose enough that she looks comfortable and commanding at the same time.

Thank you. I'm still very proud of this one even though it's relatively old - I wish I could create more like it! Gods/Goddesses and the like are some of my favorite inspirations for art, even if they are entirely made up and only somewhat inspired by pre-existing ideas.

i *really* like the detail that you put into the scales of the tail. the heiroglyphs are also a wonderful touch.

Thanks. Those scales took a long time - but crazilly enough, I'm doing them again for a mermaid piece.
