was in an artblock up til about a week ago (thats been arouind since august), but this popped out about 1 1/2 months ago...Arystailm is one of the selectable ships (and personal fave) from a shmup called Blazing Star, for the Neo Geo. I really liked the aggresive nature and power of the ship design, and the tri-winged frontal design was really unique.
was puttering around and decided to play with textures a lil ^^

There is an arcade down my street that has Blazing Star, I go there whenever I can to play the game. I had originally played as Peplos, but I do prefer Windina more, her attack can take out large groups of enemies in seconds.
Anyway, I'm glad to see other Blazing Star fans. And I also agree with mikyamf. Seeing a picture of the actual characters would be good.

Good to see another Blazing Star fan. I was always a Peplos driver myself (and it seems like I'm the only Peplos driver around. Everybody seems to fly everything but the Peplos). Incidentally, the high scorers at [link] seem to be all Windina drivers; probably has to do with that fighter's capability of covering the entire screen.
Lessee . . . as for a few critiques, there's excellent detail on the fighter itself. Colors aren't as vibrant as the original fighter, but that's fine, and anyway, this IS your own unique style. The only potential problem might be what I guess is an explosion or backblast. Perhaps greater detail around the fighter and then fuzzing out?

Hey I like Peplos too!. I like its design, very feminine for a shmup ship. Also I think the girl who pilots it is pretty. Also, it's a good all-around ship.

That is so righteous. I've kinda barely heard of Blazing Star (it's at my arcade, but I played it once and died in shame) but I've never gotten a good look at the design before now. I love the way you put the textures in and the composition is way more aggressive than you usually do (not that I'm complaining)

Oh we've got some of those too, but they're off where they can't annoy me. Mostly when ithis place gets a new game it's something weird an esoteric like Megaman: The Power Battle or something. I dumped a huge amount of change into their 5-in-1 classic machines. Damn that Sinistar RIGHT TO HELL.
I'll give it another go-round tomorrow, in fact!

1/2 arcade 1/2 miniature golf course indoors. It's a strange little oasis, but a seriously cool one. These guys get all kinda stuff. I think they had Strikers 1945 for a couple weeks (and didn't *that* just beat my ass *L*)
YES! Isn't it? I didn't remember you had to blast the asteroids to get the stuff to kill him, which is right impossible with him chasing after you. I played it twice then stuck to Phoenix and Galaxian, which I think I still had *some* skills left on.
And yes, did go over and give Blazing Star a chance. I'm SO not good at it, but man, do I love the music.
