The colours and the lightning of this photo really caught my eye in the first place. They're greatly combined, I think they're perfect for the feeling the scene gives you.
The photo looks sharp enough and well focused and I think the composition is well chosen.
I also like the fact that everything else is just a silhouette - the bird and the tree -, no other details to spoil the mistery.
Personally, the whole scene makes me think of a sundown with the feeling of ending but still moving on to a new beginning. The bird also seems to look somewhere in the distance, which sustains the whole idea - but we can only guess that.
Overall, the mistery in this piece makes it all and the technique you used only helps it stand out more.
