Description Some weeks ago I promised to my friend Eden that I was going to give her name to the next star I invented. The problem is that when it happened, I did not invented a single star but a serie of stars, a complete bunch of them (alike the arabesques), all of them using the same basis. So, I decided to give her name, Eden, to the series.
Instead of to photography each star separatedly I have decided to post them in two big pictures. Here you go the stars 01-10. They are numbered according to the order they have been invented.
FULL VIEW, PLEASE, OR YOU WON'T SEE ANY DETAIL and tell me what is your favorite star. Mine is 05, and Eden's is 09.

Models created by: Me.
Folded by: Me too.
Diagrams: Nope.

Diagramas o desarrollos: No.

I will submit a new set before this Thursday.
It is already folded and varnished. I need to make the photos.
Don't worry, I don't remember all of them either.
This weekend I invented 10 new stars
I will check your favorite stars when I have some more time
Take care

5 is one of my favorites, alike 28, but I like 28 more.
10 is one of the few stars that have a different back.
(All my stars of Eden except four or five are folded the same in the back)

HOLY SHIT!!! THAT IS AMAZING!!! I only just now learned the simple origami star. how did you make that?! O_O i like number 7. looks the most complicated. xD i like the paper you used too.

But I believe you have not seen the other sets of stars yet.

o_o they look like ninja stars (not really...some of them do) o_- how do you make them all in so many different versions?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Figuer In reply to Omegabunny2000 [2008-12-12 10:52:43 +0000 UTC]

Short answer: Combinating sequences of folds.
Long answer: These stars are folded in phases. First and last phase are always the same, so the stars looks similar. In the rest of phases a certain number of different folds are possible. A determined folding sequence of several possible in phase 2, other of several possible folding sequences in phase 3, etc.

I like number 2 ^^ Your friend Eden is very lucky to have such beauty dedicated to her.

And since my name is Eden, too, I'll pretend they're dedicated to me, too. XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Figuer In reply to Drelias [2008-12-04 16:42:03 +0000 UTC]

Ouch, I published them two years ago. In that moment I had only invented these 10 stars. I did not think it was possible to invent many more.
Hmm, if you say to your friends that this Eden is you, I won't say them otherwise

My favourite is #9... that shade of blue is so awesome!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Figuer In reply to llifi-kei [2008-12-04 10:24:21 +0000 UTC]

Maybe it is the varnish.
I invented a star #9 bis. It has the same front pattern that #9, but the back of #9 bis is like the front of #9 too.

Of these ones, I like one and five the best.

Five looks like it could hang in the sky, and one is just darn pretty.

Figuer In reply to Goldfish-In-Space [2008-11-28 15:42:28 +0000 UTC]

#1 was just the first of all of them and #5 is my favorite in this set. When I made this set I thought that I would not be able to invent more than 20 different stars of Eden. I was so wrong

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Goldfish-In-Space In reply to Figuer [2008-11-28 23:09:55 +0000 UTC]

diversification happens.

:3

what doesn't evolve /dies/.

no danger here, huh?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Figuer In reply to Goldfish-In-Space [2008-11-28 23:58:25 +0000 UTC]

nope
I think I will be able to get 500 variations.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Goldfish-In-Space In reply to Figuer [2008-11-29 00:26:44 +0000 UTC]

then you just have to diversify further?

how many variations on star-legs can you have? I think there are probably more than 500 with everything else.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Figuer In reply to Goldfish-In-Space [2008-11-29 09:48:40 +0000 UTC]

Mathematically I could get several thousand of stars.
All these stars share the same base and 99% of them have the same back (like the star named back in this set 01-10). I have gotten three or four different backs. Simply making these different backs in each one of the actual stars I could triplicate their number. In all the stars I can change the shape of the points. In all of them I can get three or 4 different type of points but in some of them I can make more than 8 points stars.
But I try to get new stars finding new shapes in the center of the star. That is more difficult.

Number 9 is pretty.
I invented a #9 bis that has the same shape in the front and in the back.
