Description
Since I was a kid growing up watching Batman the animated series and reading DC comics, I was always most impressed and interested in the gadgets that Bruce Wayne has invented throughout his history as a character. With his very technical and inventive mind and access to Wayne tech resources, i believe he should be a pretty teched out adversary with some nifty, non-lethal gadgets. In my version of Batman, he has gone through 3 generations of his suit, making upgrades to his main suit as well as his gadgets in order to keep ahead of his foes who are constantly changing tactics and coming up with new ways to threaten Gotham in the 21st century. This is the most recent version of the suit that has the most up to date tech.
Body Armor and Suit
The Body armor (white to clearly show armor, normally light grey) and main suit are made into multiple parts, offering full body protection and many additional defensive properties. The main materials used are lightweight (probably a carbon fiber+titanium alloy) with an exterior coating that offers water proof, chemical resistant and insulation against extreme temperatures and electricity properties. For missions involving stealth, the suit can absorb his body heat, rendering him invisible to infrared sensors (not that anyone would see him coming anyways). The webbing (darker parts of the suit) is a thinner durable mesh material, offering full mobility in areas that get a lot of movement during combat. This material is tear and slash resistant from sharp weapons but not puncture proof. The more reinforced sections include his cowl, shoulders, chest, core, spine, forearms, gloves, groin, thighs, shins and feet. Features of the armor include...
Blunt force resistant = able to take multiple hard impacts from blunt attacks or concussive forces
kevlar + nomex tri-weave = low caliber proof (pistols barely do anything) and medium to high caliber/ Armor piercing rounds resistance (will stop several rounds, but will eventually break), as well as being entirely fire- proof
Sleek flak jacket chest armor= heaviest armor of suit, has built in bio-monitors to record and monitor Batman’s vital signs (BPM, breathing, blood pressure, body heat, etc.)
Other Features
A security measure suit will discharge a massive amount of electricity to stun or incapacitate anyone tampering with suit. However this uses a lot of power and is only used in emergencies.
In the case that Batman is knocked unconscious, stopped breathing or is severely injured (all diagnostics taken from synced bio-monitor in chest), the suit will enter into “life support mode” in which it will attempt to resuscitate batman through a combination of diverting all electrical power from other systems (auto defense and knuckles) to a mini defibrillator, located in armored chest, as well as deploying rebreather over mouth and nose to administer oxygen. Additionally, the suit will immediately send out an emergency beacon that will send alerts to all bat-family members to his aid and call the Batmobile to his location for extraction. The entire suit is pressurized which ensures any wound that Batman may get in combat will immediately have direct pressure on it to slow bleeding until he can get further assistance.
Cowl
Housing the most advanced hardware on his suit, the cowl offers various defensive and tactical features. Reinforced armor around temples, forehead, and nose plus thick, one way mirrored eye lenses both conceal Batman’s identity and also protect his face and brain from concussion and ballistic attacks. Built into the cowl of the mouth is a gas mask that surrounds the exposed side of Batman’s face to create a vacuum seal that can filter out most gases and fumes, as well as act as a rebreather for underwater scenarios.
The cowl has various sensors that offer tactical advantages and environmental feedback such as…
Police scanner built into one ear
Bio scanner, which scans any humanoid subject using facial recognition and GCPD+ JLA databases (shows BPM, medical records, and general information like address, profession, felonies and name on HUD). This information is automatically uploaded to Batcomputer.
Detect and record any structural details of buildings and machinery seen through eyes. All information gets sent to the Batcomputer automatically.
Night vision, infrared, and ultraviolet
Direct link to Batcave, allowing information to be sent back and forth between cowl/suit and Batcomputer
Sound dampeners in ears drown out sound louder than a certain decibel, allowing for enhanced hearing and protection from sonic blasts
Secure comlink in other ear and microphone near mouth can be used to contact anyone with a certain frequency (which is only a handful of people). Microphone can also broadcast voice commands to activate certain features in suit or in vehicles.
Cowl records all audio and visual information which can then be viewed on bat computer monitors
Binocular vision, allows batman to enhance and magnify images from a far distance with built in rangefinder that will show distance to subject on HUD
If disorientated, Batman an uses a Wayne tech sonar features that show the whole environment using echolocation at the expense of losing vision.
Auto light adjusters in lenses allow Batman to see in any kind of lighting as well as adjust to sudden flashbangs and bright light attacks
Gauntlets and Gloves
Since Batman is ambidextrous, each gauntlet has a different purpose. On the left arm is the mini touch screen computer which allows Batman to access information sent from Batcave, and show GPS navigation of self and of any active tracking devices. On the right arm is the geek device, a Wayne tech product used by combat engineers to interact with devices in the battlefield. This is used to interact with other gadgets and devices. Features include a
Short range signal jammer =jams any other radio communication in the area
Hacking to extract data and uploading viruses to computer systems.
Control vehicle systems from a distance and signal vehicles to his location
Remote detonator for any devices/ gadgets connected to his network that can be remote detonated
Directly above each glove is a series of small openings that can release various gasses and sprays. These include pepper spray, knockout gas, shark repellent (doesn’t leave the cave without it), modified fear toxin when interrogation does not work, supercooled freezing agent to stop electronics from working, herbicide, acid diffusers, and others.
Gloves are reinforced in the knuckles for superior punching power and can have a non lethal shock effect activated for some extra power. Gloves offer extra protection against chemicals, fire and other hazards and are textured to aid in gripping onto any material. Pointer finger has a miniature diamond cut knife for cutting, the middle and ring finger can launch a taser that can deliver a high voltage shock, and the pinky is a DNA/chemical analyzer that scans and identifies the source by touching whatever the subject is.
Boots and Cape
Boots are able to absorb impact from high falls, offer superior traction on any surface, and insulate from electricity thanks to dense rubber soles that have multiple textures. Tips are steel tipped, increasing the power of his already powerful kicks.
Cape is made of memory fabric that will become rigid when an electric current is applied, allowing Batman to glide down from elevated surfaces. The cape is completely detachable. Is not tear resistant but is completely water and fireproof
This concept of Batman is directly inspired from DC comics. Inspiration was taken from comics, tv shows, video games and movies made by DC. This particular concept has elements from the Christian Bale Dark Knight trilogy, the new 52 batsuit and the Batman: Arkham Origins video game.
Feedback is much appreciated. I am new to content creating and submitting. I have been an artist my whole life, mainly focusing on black and white pencil and charcoal, as well as colored pen.
Next I will be submitting my own idea of the famous utility belt and all the gadgets he has in his arsenal. Cheers.
