As a child his father would lock him in a basement and expose him to different fear inducing stimuli to study what makes people afraid, stating that 'the key to conquer our greatest fears is to face them dirrectly.' His father developed a fear inducing serum that alters the perception of the target, creating vivid hallucinations of their
darkest fears.

His father died of a heart attack from exposing himself to a strong dosage of the earlier stages of fear toxin. The toxin got into the basement and Jonathan spent days locked in the basement breathing in the fear toxin and hallucinating. It wasn't until days later when authorities found Jonathan shivering, starving and alone in the basement. Due to the over exposure of the potent fear toxin dosage he emerged but cannot feel fear anymore.

Following in his dad's footsteps, Jonathan became obsessed with studying fear and phobias. Became psychology professor at gotham University allowing him access to their labs where he would develop his fear toxin serum used by his father. Would frequently target students who visited him during in-office visits. Fired for unethical treatment of students and sent to arkham where he observed what it takes to install fear in people.

Scarecrow would not always commit crimes solely for profit but as a way to research people's threshold of phobias. Jonathan crane would kidnap homeless gothamites from various shelters, including the Wayne foundation shelter. This is why he dresses in rags and sewed clothing, to blend in more with the homeless.

A master strategist and manipulator, Scarecrow normally relies on using his fear toxin to expose his targets greatest fears and use it against them. He is tall and stalky meaning while he isn't string he has more leverage and is very agile.

Atomized gas with synthetic and natural hallucinogenic mushrooms that can be injected, inhaled, injested or absorbed through skin. Essentially guarantees an extremely powerful, terrifying bad trip that targets your amygdala to reveal their phobias in nightmarish hallucinations. His arkham knight design was genuinely scary but i felt like it didnt relfect the scarecrow part of his essence. I liked the gas mask, syringe hand and canisters all over his body as well as the homeless-rag clothes look. I combined aspects of his animated Scarecrow design with arkham knights chemical warfare wizard. I really liked how he turned out.
