So here's the colored version. I'm kinda diggin' the lighting I've got going. We'll just say that they're standing by a ground light...or some kind...yeah.Anyhoo! Had fun with this. I like things when they're wet especially when they're drawn to look wet. I'm pretty sure I didn't pull of the wet look well enough, but it's a first attempt, so I'll cut myself some slack. I imagine that Charlie has the kind of hair that does the cute curly thing when wet, so I happily tossed in a few random curly things. I again pay homage to the dodge tool for making the awesome lit look happen. Yes it is pure coincidence that the bottom left corner compined with their heads makes a heart...but since it's there, I guess I could claim this as a valentine's day pic? Maybe? Never done that before...Anyway, Jade, Charlie, Becky, Emi, hope you guys like it!

She shouldn't have come with him. She'd known that this would happen, that the feelings that she had hidden in her heart would explode from her eventually, unable to be restrained by her mind's desperate pleading. But she'd never thought that it would end like this.
"I love you," she'd said, never knowing she would say it, and the look in his eyes as he heard her speak stabbed cold ice through her heart. She had turned and run into the icy rain, begging the chill to freeze her burning heart, to stop the fire under her skin, knowing that it was hopeless, that the fire that burned in her would, instead, turn the rains to steam, would scorch the sky itself, but she couldn't stand to be there, to see the dead look in his eyes, the sick expression with which he regarded her.
She didn't hear the sound of his footsteps until he'd already caught up with her. "Stop, stop," he was begging, and she turned to him, was ready to scream, to beg, to do anything to make him stop following her, and then he pulled her close and their lips met.
Time froze. She swore she could see the raindrops hanging in space, like little diamonds slowly drifting towards earth and languidly splitting into billions of tiny sparkling droplets as they struck his hair, his face, his clothing. Their hearts burned as one, his flames burning brilliant crimson, hers a verdant emerald, and they became lost in the touch, descending into the madness of love as the torrent raged around them.
Things would never be the same.

Dude...I love working with these two. Maybe it was Charlie whispering in my ear that inspired that first pic that set this whole thing on it's way...who knows, but I'm not complaining. I just like getting these inspired images. I keep looking at this too and it's like...DUDE! I can't believe I did that! More and more of my art lately has been inspiring that response. Gives me more and more confindence for getting into grad school for animation

Apperantly, it's going to be a habbit of mine to reply to your Jade/Charlie pics twice. Because I always have more to say, the more I look at it. I LOVE Jade's hair, even more than Charlie's, probably because her hair color blends into the background better. But the lighting, as you said, is marvelous.
You are so good at drawing intense passion between these two, and I worship the paper you draw on.

yeah...generally speaking, I've done a whole lot of experimenting in this. Without even knowing it, I managed to capture a lot of the elements that I love in other ppls art here. the way the figures blend into the background but the line is still visible. the execution of lighting, and the unusual lack of eyes as well. Even in the line art, I'm playing with fewer connected lines. This was so fun to work on! I just hope this progress continues. I need a decent portfolio put together by this Fall...
It's really amazing how just looking at other art and studying what it is you like about it can help you refine your own art into something more pleasing to your eye.

Dude...what I love best about your work is just how easily you seem to pull it off. I mean, you can make such fun and emotive images and do it so fast. It sometimes takes me weeks to figure out a concept let alone execute it, yet you can bust out with thigs that ROCK on a fairly regular basis. I think that more than anything is my primary weakness. I'm just real slow. I really want to work on not being like that anymore ;__;

you say that...but then I look at your 381 Deviation/scraps and compare it to my my meager 87 and determine that I have the right of it. I mean dude! When I went through your gallery to pic my favories...I couldn't! All of your stuff is great! I mean it's not perfect always, and I know you have complaints about tons of stuff in your art, but when you get right down to it, you have a ton of finished products that are good. People love your stuff because even when there are technical issues, the heart, spirit, and creativity it there, and that's where your strenth lies. I mean for crying out loud woman, you have almost 30,000 page views! I'm excited cuz I just passed 5,000. That should tell you something...
