The TARDIS (short for Time And Relative Dimension In Space) a machine from the Doctor Who series, used by The Doctor as a spaceship and time machine. On the outside it looks like a regular police box, but on the inside it's a lot bigger, consisting of a central control hub and several rooms, the layout of which is almost always changing.

I'm glad you understand. Although, I can't say that I'm not a fan because I saw something I disliked about it. In fact, it's quite the opposite. I've never seen Doctor Who before but I don't really have any interests in seeing it. I didn't even know about Doctor Who until I kept hearing references to it in the Brony community regarding a character called Doctor Whooves among the fans. The closest I ever got to the show was episode 100 of MLP when Doctor Whooves was made one of the central characters and everypony and their mother were pointing out all the references. I couldn't quite understand them, so I was thankful to Silver Quill's review of the episode when one of the Brony cameos questioned how someone could not know any of the references and Silver pointed out that not everyone watches Doctor Who. When Silver Quill said that, I wanted to give him a big hug for understanding that and not having a negative opinion on the matter.

I'm pretty neutral about Doctor Who myself; yes, I like it, but I'm not one of those hardcore Whovian fans who look up everything that's going on with the show. Personally, I'm just impressed that it's been around since the 60's.

I know this comment is a month old (i just stumbled upon it.) But, to get a more precise answer, the version of Sonic coming from the phone cabin is that of the universe of Sonic Boom, whose timely appearance and quote/reaction matches that of Knuckles' line "I'd rather flex my muscles." Since in the Sonic Boom universe, Knuckles litteral design is that of a muscle-head, Sonic is essentially attempting to warn Knuckles about not flexing his muscles, less he become the version we see in Sonic Boom.
