lovely rendering. the pencil sketch was interesting, but this has a nice completed look.
if you do future pieces in this style you might try to push the tonal range a little wider by adding some lighter highlights and really pushing the form of the creature.

Most definitely! I wanted this to be pretty low key, because in my dream it was very blurry and dark, so I wanted to keep that kind of surreal quality.

I like the b&w version most, but this one is really good too.
My only critic is that the background dissapeared...and I think It would look better with one (obviusly with some spooky, twisted, dark background, like a "Silent Hill" wall or something).
Anyway, keep it up!

Thanks! I kind of prefer my black and white one, too, just because the color was difficult to get right. The monitor I have been working on is a really low contrast-y laptop one, and it means I tend to oversaturate my palette.
The reason it has no background is pretty much because that's how it looked in my dream, which was very confusing. It was this absolutely dark room, with things that meshed together and sliced the creature up, somehow missing me. So bizarre!

Hah! I could just imagine you, all focused and "in the zone" while drawing it, then, when you're done, you hold it up, and jerk back saying "Ack! What in the Hell did I draw?!"

this is totally great in its disfigured glory. reminds me of the "jacob's ladder" film.

like a nightmare coming alive. a must-see movie. somewhat similar to "eraserhead", "lost highway" and "altered states".

Nice color job. I'm replaying all the Silent Hill games, and this thing looks ripped straight from them.

yeah its colour is very in-tune with "the darkness" of the movie. As I said before, this stuff isn't really something I would draw... but it is stuff I think about
very gritty

OMG! So cool! I was watching Animal Planet and it showed a glow slug or whatever it was called. It had webbing that would hang and insects would stick to it. This reminds me of that. Creepy way to go.
