Description More famous monuments. I think most people associate Japan with Mt. Fuji but it would be cheating to just put it in the background.

I got this gorgeous picture of the famous Fushimi Inari shrine that was featured in Memoirs of a Geisha from . As usual, finding the right picture took the longest time.

Japan in a summer yukata. I referenced the pattern and the obi directly from Google. It's really hard to find refs of male yukatas let alone from that angle. XP

Painted in SAI.

Amazing, as usual. I love how much like Japan he looks, yet still like a real human. And the light--just wow.

I chose this background picture mostly for the light play. I based Japan on Koike Teppei. :3

I knew he looked familiar. Koike Teppei totally works as a model for Japan, I think.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear, I don't think. Also, I have a strange sense of humor. No worries. I just meant that his looks match Honda Kiku's, that's all. Sorry for the confusion.

Japan with the Fushimi Inari, splended! Amazing how easy you make it sound to draw this, yet soo complicated for our eyes. Very beautiful <3

Thanks. I just had a vision of this piece in my mind's eye, so it was just transferring that vision into reality.

This is extraordinary! I really love your semi-realistic style and how weasily the drawing blends with the real thing, as if everything was from the photograph originally.

The whole thing has a great effect. Even though Japan was obviously painted in, he doesn't look out of place. I think that's an amazing feat. And great job on the lighting!

Japan! You actually look kinda Asian!! D8
I don't know why it's so hard to find some clothes online. I can find any number of animals and cars, no matter what year or how popular, but when it comes to clothing they're hidden or something ><
But this looks wonderful. He fits with the environment very well.

=^..^=~

Thaaaaaaanks. He went through a gradual transformation from how I initially drew him. I wanted to get him all bishie and pretty. ;3 I based his look off a Japanese actor, mm something-Teppei?

There's a closeup?

Well, the preview I posted was really small, that's all.
