I posted this guy on Tumblr as an ask answer, but I liked the drawing enough to give it a fancy background

'Ill', as his brothers and sisters call him affectionately, is a pretty cool guy - very stylish and serious. He’s trying to get rid of his bad boy reputation from the mafia heydays. Deep down, the guy just likes to farm, but he has a good work ethic in all situations.

This is my take on the state, but I admit I haven't researched him quite as extensively as I have Michigan, and I haven't spent any great deal of time there, so if you are from Illinois and have some input, I'd appreciate some constructive criticism!

I intend to design all of the Great Lakes States, but in no particular order. I need to do more research and character design on most of them first.
