Thanks for liking the image. I did not want to put in spoilers and hoped I was not causing a problem with that- that's why I tried to keep things very vague.
I loved that song from the "Muppet Movie." It stood out as a sad, sweet, thoughtful song amid the more cheerful ones of the movie.
Oh, I am SO GLAD you caught the details. Score another point for my off kilter Marvel Comics and Mad Magazine influences that make me the oddball in this fandom (plus my cougar-ness). The wind sorta worked for me- it really was important to have the background show the wind so Hiccup and the Elder didn't look like bed heads. I see I need to keep practicing, though.
And I am glad their gazes are bittersweet and tender, not kinky (I was worried about that, too.)
I saw the other image as well. That one sure got drawn fast.
Ray Bradbury rocks! I think he was one of my big influences. Years later I can still read his stories and love them as much as when I was a kid. This particular story is sad, but if you take it from a science fiction perspective it actually had a happy ending since Bradbury puts in some clues that the protagonists wife is his teacher and she found that way to "leave" this reality and come again at the right time to meet him so they could meet. But he never figured it out she was his teacher.

And you might be right!!!! I was guessing that, too. You can check out the story here, at least until it gets to DA: [link]

YouΒ΄re welcome. If I were in her shoes, I would also refuse to confirm or deny it.
But just wanted to post the picture while I had some down time. I am sure the story will be up here soon enough. But I hope you read the Bradbury story I posted. That was one of the most touching stories from my childhood (I love BradburyΒ΄s work, not least because he came from Illinois/Missouri, like me, and his depictions how magical a region most people think of as boring were just so spot on. He really knew how wonderful it is to be a child and that magic and wonder exist in every place if you look for it.

Yes, you are right. I only have that story posted here, though I will bring over the other two stories I have in fan fiction.net (The Boneknapper sequel and a parallel story with original characters from my "Sunset" story and cameos by Hiccup and Toothless)
The story I mentioned is actually one by the classic sci fi author Ray Bradbury. I stuck the link for it in the comments about the "Full Circle" image. It's a story I loved as a kid, and the "Hitchups" Gudrid and Hiccup tie reminded me of it. I found the story by Bradbury on line, and here it is. Hope you like it as much as I did. [link]
And thank you for liking my silly stories! I sure do appreciate it. They are on the really odd side of weird, so I love that there are open minded people like you who give them a chance!

hehe I've loved sci-fi for years now. Stargate, Firefly and what-not. Mixing HTTYD with invading AU's is not something I would have thought of. hehe I loved it! :bravoplz:
I don't allow myself to go to FF.net. I used to go there all the time, everyday; and if I were to return I'd be like a recovering druggie let loose in a pharmacy on the worst day of their life... It would eat my soul.
But your Bradbury story is on Angelfire so I'll read that tomorrow. It's nearly 12 am here and I have work in the morning. *scoldsmyself*
If your other stories are even 3/4 as good as Sunset then I scertainly look forward to reading them. (3/4 is just a joke, please don't take it to heart! I'm sure I'll enjoy them anyway.)

Yea! Fellow sci fi junkie. We are a rare breed.
I can understand about ff.net. It seems like it has been very tempting to a lot of people.
That's nice of your comments on my stories. You made my Monday!

It might- I would have to read that part again. YouΒ΄re probably right. I will have to remember that for future artwork. The logic side of me wanted to put in the longer sleeves since it's pretty durn cold in that part of the world, but I think I got affected by some other fan art showing HiccupΒ΄s return. Heh. I am so bad. I was a bit annoyed Cami took away the Byzantine shirt since I would have preferred Hiccup come back looking like someone from a very cross cultural background.
